Guest guest
, Ididn't have the broken wrist , but did have two broken ankles. The first one was the worst of the two fractures. That one didn't heal too bad. It took forever to get me out of the cast..8 weeks and then another 8 in a cast boot. I was in the wheelchair for that one 8 weeks... I was dependent on everyone for transportation. The next one was not as bad of a break. I was still in the cast over 6 weeks and then in the cast boot for another 8. That happened last September. That ankle is still black and blue. It swells. It hurts at night and feels like it is on fire. It is still considered a healing fracture. These fractures can be very hard to heal. Did you have therapy after for strengthening? I couldn't handle it and didn't even bother to go. Knew there would be no one there that would understand ALS so I did my own therapy sorta at home. Now I wish it would just heal up and the bruising would go away. Take care Sherry
Guest guest
, Every fracture is significant in our cases since it just handicaps us more... The first fracture I got was from a slip on the ice. The second was from just walking down the hallway and my ankle turned over. They are very floppy and weak. I know what you mean about exercising. Have all the time in the world , but don't seem to be motivated enough to do them Take care Sherry ----- Original Message -----
Guest guest
Sherry, Boy, compared to your broken ankles, especially the more recent one, the problems I have had with my wrist pale into insignificance. How did you break them? I did get some exercises to do but they were more to regain flexibility equivalent to what my other (also PLS affected) wrist has, but I must admit that I have been rather slack and haven't done them anywhere near as often as hourly as suggested. I hope your ankle heals properly and quickly now. :-) Sherry wrote: > , > Ididn't have the broken wrist , but did have two broken ankles. The > first one was the worst of the two fractures.
