Guest guest
Tonia, Glad to hear the block helped.... I had the same issues with the Stellate block, felt like I was having a lot of trouble swallowing, breathing, etc. I was really glad when that went away. Maybe I should try one for my trigger points... I do not like this feeling of being stabbed constantly in several places. I keep asking the kids who has the voodoo doll of me! Hope your block lasts forever! Jo

But, at least I did finally get my voice back!!!! lol....Gene was enjoying me not having my voice on the way home a little bit too much!! But, my left shoulder is feeling really good actually. now, if Gene would just get his behind back home and fix me something to eat.....I'd be happy! I only ate a couple of bites of food on the way home....otherwise, I haven't ate since Midnight! I'm starving..... And, the papers I got when I left the hospital said No Cooking! (man, I LOVE my doctor!!!! lol) Tonia -------Original Message------- Sounds like you'll be busy for the next few days... Let us know when you can about your block and how you're feeling. It's great that you are looking into all of these things, and should be able to take advantage of the things that are out there. That is what they are intended for. Crystal likes puzzles? Good for her. I was a puzzle fiend as a child.... I'll have to remember that... Jo PS - Can I rent the cowboy for a little while, too??? Guest guest
Barbara, so far, it has......except for when I was here on my computer a tad bit too long.....I had pain in my shoulder socket like normal. But, after going to bed, its better. I do have a little bit of burning in the back of my shoulder, but thankfully not the pain or burning like I normally have!!! This block even helped in between my shoulder blades....which is the best part of all! What I didn't like though, is every other block I've had...including the block for my right shoulder....I was asleep for. I was also on my belly for my right shoulder.....but, this time, I was on my back, and awake for the whole thing!!! The shot he gave me was a killer....it was right next to my windpipe.....and I felt the whole thing. That really sucked! And, while I was there afterwords, in the hospital yet, I had my voice. 10 blocks away....I didn't. Gene was enjoying me not having a voice way, WAY too much on the way home....the ratfink! The only problem I had was the fact that I couldn't breathe!!! It was really really hard to breathe until I did get my voice back 5 hours later......The block was done at 2:30pm, we got home at 4:30-4:45, and I went straight to bed. I got back up at 7.....and could talk and breathe finally!! My eye is still messed up some, but at least I can finally open it! lol... last night, I couldn't even do that. But, as long as I don't reply to too many emails, which means stretching my arm.....I should be ok. Thanks Barbara and everyone else that replied! Guest guest
Tonia - Am I correct in thinking that you had a stellate ganglion block? That's the only one that I can think of that is given just to the side of the windpipe/trachea. If that's what it was, I hope you take some comfort in knowing that the eye thing (Horner's) and the hoarseness go away within 4 - 24 hours. Sure hoping that your relief last longer than that. Years ago Iwhen they gave me the SGB's they used to sedate me....I hated the sedation more that the block itself so they finally agreed to do it with nothing. (That was I was able to go back to work right afterwards too. Don't yell at me, JoAnn LOL) I really hope that the block ends up helping you.
