Guest guest
Hi Gossimer. This is my specialty. I am a Fitness Educator & Personal Trainer with 20+ years experience. I own my own business, specializing in women's & mature adult fitness. *First, have you worked out before? Are you a beginner?* Home training vs. gym is fairly subjective. If you are a motivated self-starter, investing in home equipment could be very good for you. If you enjoy comeraderie & a bit of low key competition (incentive), then a gym might be your best bet. Also, if you are a beginner to strength training, some one on one instruction (personal or video)is in order. A prime consideration is your time & schedule. It can be very time consuming just to travel to & from the gym, waiting on equipment, etc. There are many fine home programs available & you can really pick & choose what best suits YOU. Re: equipment The Bowflex is a really good piece of equipment as is the Weider Crossbow. I believe there are instruction videos with both & both offer comparable, complete body workouts. You can often find like-new ones in the classified section. An excellent companion investment(inexpensive) for home use is a FITBALL. There are some very good videos for both strength & cardio training with these. They are the ABSolute best way to train ABS! As for the Gazelle---please don't invest your $$ or your body in this. It is an orthopedi$t'$ dream....many potential injuries due to overuse & hyperextension of knees, hips, & back. A much better investment would be some good videos for STEP, LOW IMPACT, INDOOR WALKING or FITBALL cardio. Then again, if you are a gym member, you have all the choices available there. I will be glad to answer any other questions you might have. This is a good thing you are considering. So " ask away. Guest guest
I haven't checked this group in FOREVER. Just stopped by and saw this thread. At the beginning of the year I purchased a Sansone in home walking video. EXCELLENT I would say and I have fibromyalgia. It is very easy to follow and you don't need a lot of room. Then I fell and broke my foot and couldn't do it. I put it on today (first time since February since I've really not felt up to it with my afflictions) and did the 1 mile. It was challanging as my muscles ache and are tight but I did it. Will try and do a mile a day and work up to two miles which is what the video is. There is strecthing at the end. I plan to eventually get some of her other videos. Hugs, Carol B > Hi Gossimer. This is my specialty. I am a Fitness Educator & Personal > Trainer with 20+ years experience.
