Guest guest
Hi, , thanks for your words of encouragement. I'm optimistic that Chase will eventually overcome his speech difficulties. But I do believe that we still have a long road ahead. Like I mentioned before, Chase's speech has more than doubled since we discontinued Reglan. He was able to put words together such as aah-da (all done) and ware-shishy-dow (where did sissy go) for several months now, but this week he has been speaking in short sentences. His ST at school was very excited to tell me how Chase said " Mama at home and dada at home. " I'm so excited!! He is also much more willing to imitate and try to say words now. He still needs work on articulation, but it's a good sign when others can understand as well. Guest guest
Kris, Reglan may take a while to deplete entirely from his body. I do believe he will improve consistently now that he's off of that medication. Glad he's improving......hoping it continues! ~Karyn Re: [ ] Update; Apraxia, secondary to medication side effects... Guest guest
Thanks for the encouraging words. Now I'm going to restart Chase on ProEFA once again. When we first started EFA supplements we did notice surges in speech; However, at the times of the surges, Chase was not taking Reglan for one reason or another. Of course once he was back on Reglan, the EFA's did not seem to be effective. So we increased his dose to 2 capsules a day, and still no difference. So we took a break from taking his " fish pills " for awhile. Today, I asked Chase if he wanted a " fish pill " and replied " ah-huh.
