Guest guest
> - I'm curious about your thyroid treatment. Mine was (and still is) so OUT OF WHACK!. The first tests that were done seemed normal, yet I was clearly hypothyroid. When I finally met up with a doctor who was certain I was hypothyroid & did saliva tests to confirm it, we started with Armour, got no results, then went to Cytomel for T3 (which was proportionately low). I was at 50 mcg of Cytomel before I got results!!!! Up until that time, I had virtually no short-term memory & was living the life of an Alzheimer's patient - WITH chronic fatigue. Later, I learned about the right supplements, foods, etc., to manage mercury levels & all my thyroid levels held steady in normal ranges. (I also took glandulars to support T4 which I get from my doctor.) > > My amalgams were removed in January, and my thyroid levels were retested this month. Results now came back with my TSH at 0.0!!!! So my Cytomel Rx was cut in half & I'm hoping I'll adjust soon to this. Does anyone have experience with this? TK--- Hi Joanne, testing just TSH means nothing by itself. Appropriate Thyroid testing includes Free & total T3 & T4 ,T7, TSH and maybe some others I am not aware of. There is a yahoo thyroid forum that probably has very current suggestions on testing and supplements etc. Hg chelation can help. > > Also, about 9 years back I received an ADD diagnosis and took Adderall for 3-4 years. As with those of you who've taken antidepressants, perhaps it wasn't the right diagnosis or treatment, but it kept me alive long enough & improved my mental ability enough that I was able to read & learn & ultimately get on the right path to finding out what had really gone wrong. Sadly, 12 years ago another doctor had decided things could be resolved with a complete hysterectomy. My hormones never did recover from that shock & when we consider mercury was binding to what little I had..... > > Joanne
