The puffy face is caused by fluid retention, if you check your weight on an

accurate scale you will usually have a weight gain on days when your face is

puffy.

Maybe it's the T3. My puffy face only went away when I switched from

$inthroid to Armour.

Does anyone know what specifically causes a puffy face (in relation

to thyroid)? Is it lack of T3/T4 or something different all

together?

That could be right...I was just diagnosed with hypothyroidism a

couple of months ago, and have been on Armour since June. I haven't

noticed a reduction yet in my puffy face (I am thin otherwise) but

am hoping that it just that the hormone is not yet optimized.

I can;t remember how long it took.... maybe a couple of months. I just

know one day I looked in the mirror and noticed my neck had slimmed

down. A while later I noticed it in my face. I suppose I could search

the board for all my messages and find when I posted the finding, but I

have slow internet. I began Armour the first of February.

Blessings,

Debbie K.

In addition to the puffy face, I have noticed (in seeing pictures of myself)

that my eyes look a little funny - like I'm popping them out somehow ever so

slightly. In my younger years, I don't notice this in my pictures.

I am low thyroid, BTW.

Deposits of Hylauronic Acid (Sp?) in the soft tissues. It's the same stuff

that can initially start the Carpel Tunnel Syndrome, although, if the

thyroid goes untreated long enough, that set of tendons, etc..that run

through the wrist will become enlarged from the " squeeze " put on them.

Even though you are low thyroid, you need to be tested for Grave's

Antibodies...TPO I think it is. Its called Thyroid/Eye disease and

YES you can have both Hashi's and Graves at the same time and be low

thyroid. It is essential if you are experiencing bulging eyes with

thyroid to get this tested...please, as it can lead to deformity.
