Hi Everybody,

My name is . I have a 14 month old little girl named Madison and a

wonderful hubby named . I started the Atkins diet on August 1st. My

husband started it before I did. We both are losing weight at a nice pace.

We were introduced to the diet by a friend of my husbands who lives in

England. I had no idea how popular it was. I've seen Dr Atkins books around.

My mom has had a copy of it on her book shelf for years. It never clicked =)

Until, my husband started losing weight so quickly. I had to see what all

the

fuss was about.

Well, I am still uncomfortable about posting my weight, maybe I will do that

later, but put it this way.. lol .. if I lost a 100 pounds I would still be

living ... So far .. this is the God's honest truth. Since August 1st. I

have

lost 15 pounds. I know the induction diet you loose quickly if you stay

strict. I have done just that. My husband has lost 35 pounds since June and

is still losing but much slower.

I can't wait to share tips and such with you all. We just recently

discovered

Atkins Snack Bars , Atkins Chocolate shake and Soy flour! We are not hungry

at all and we both have experienced that euphoria feeling. Due to sugar

levels.. I tell you it's a fantastic feeling. I have literally been dancing

around the house. We've combining walking and drinking water and taking lots

of vitamins.

I've been battling my weight for 9 years! I like this diet! I am never

hungry! It's incredible!

Can't wait to hear from you all =)

Penny's post gives me a chance to ask a question that I've had for days now.

What do the three numbers (sometimes more) after a person's name mean?

Thanks so much!

Gail,

The first number is the weight the person started at, the second number is

the weight they are at now and the third number is their goal weight.

On here, those are just numbers! Congrats on your 16lbs. lost. I have

lost 12 lbs. since July 1st, and I would like to lose about 15 more lbs. I

seem to be at a stall right now, but I feel good and love this WOE/WOL, so I

won't have a problem sticking with it. Wishing you and your husband the best

of luck with this diet!

Penny,

that's mine too. But, I am having trouble now. I think I have reached that

darn plateau or something. I am 146 right now. I gained 2 lbs and nothing is

happening. I think I need to start burning some fat or something.

Welcome ,

It sounds like you and your husband are doing great!

I am on my third day of induction. Could you tell me what you use the soy

flour for and

where do you buy it.

Thanks,

Ree

Hi Ree,

We bought DR Atkins recipe book, and he has recipes for breading things like

chicken and fish, and it calls for soy flour. I actually got mine at our

local Krogers, but you can also get it at health food stores. It's very low

in carbs. Another thing we can eat a lot of is porkrhindes! hee hee! They

also are good for breading things...his recipes soun nd very interesting,

weve yet to try them =)

I use pork rinds for breading often. You dip your chicken, or whatever

into an egg/cream mixture first , then press into well-crushed pork

rinds. Then carefully pan fry in some oil - turn very gently as it's

easy to lose the pork rinds. My family likes this better than the old

days of flour. I do chicken, mushroom, cheese, zucchini.....virtually

anything this way.
