Sleep apnea is often caused by overweight status. Type 2 diabetics are

often overweight. So that's a connection.

I would say that sleep apnea may SOMETIMES be relieved by weight loss, but most

of the time not. That was an old commonplace - " Pickwickian Syndrome " - which

still persists, but which is not true.
