My now 8 yr old was evaled for sensory issues at around 5...also CAPD at

almost 7....both positive....he LOVED and still does swimming and could swim and

dive off the diving board at 2....when he gets out of pool it is like he just

took a tranquilizer....he is relaxed and quiet--which is rare--likes to then

lay out and " tan " for alittle while and then back in.....I noticed that yrs ago

and then thought that while swimming, etc he was " getting " everything he

needed to satisfy his sensory needs......he also LOVES showers....whenever...

My (apraxic) twins are the same ..also love the pool, jumping in, just

playing in water, in the rain, and yes, showers......

It is a joke between all of my friends because their sons do not want to take

showers and I counted between my 4 kids they took over 12 showers that

day....as they also like to shower after the pool...Is it because they still

want

the " water " ???? and then when we swim again later in the day we have the shower

thing again and before bed....etc etc..etc..I even thought about enclosing

the pool so that we could use it in the winter but then I woke up...LOL...

Do any of your children like the rock things that you plug in and the water

cascades down..?? It is like a table decoration???

I remember reading that many of our children ask for the " fish pills " ..could

this be the same type of thing???

(...and , I do believe that you are really a dr. and not telling any of

us...:) ) kathy
