I'm just reading Dr. Bernstein's book now. I was even trying to decide if

New York was too far to go (it is, given my budget) from where I am in

Michigan. I doubt I could afford him, either. Why aren't there clinics and

doctors who use the " Bernstein Method " or something like that?

On a positive note as far as my dislike of exercise goes, I've discovered

that there IS a senior center here in Saline and they have exercise

programs. I'll have to give them a call and see just what it is they offer.

A search for diabetes groups/clubs in the area has resulted only in names

of the local hospitals and their diabetes education programs. Maybe

diabetes clubs don't exist.

Why not start one?

You could do it one of several ways. First, you could start an e-group. I was

part of a social

group here in Austin that I found on Yahoo Groups :) Or, you could put an entry

in your

paper's local " What's Happening " type listings, or a classified ad, or even a

note at the

senior center!
