You're the one who makes choices, not BPD. Yes, it is a terrible illness, but it can't make you do anything you don't want to do. If I were in your position, I'd go to Al-anon on a regular basis. And if I had the money / insurance, I'd get some therapy to help me cope. You also might be interested in reading _Codependent No More_ by Melody Beattie. You aren't as powerless as you seem to think you are.
