Have you ever tried Scandishakes for weight gain. likes the vanilla

and the strawberry. I just try to make her eat before I give her a shake or

else she fills up on just the shake. We get them from our clinic, ask your

doc about them.

Ronda, It's funny you should mention the scandishake. Our daughter-6 just

drank hers. Her daddy gave it to her...with lunch no less. Guess she

won't be eating lunch for another hour, cause it fills her tummy up too.

She loves scandishake tho, but her favs are choco. and straw. She has been

gaining weight really good lately, cause she has been drinking milk from

the bulk tank on the dairy farm my hubby works for...it has lots of cream

in it so it's even higher in fat and etc. than whole milk. Maybe some of

you could try to get some of this milk from farmers...who knows, maybe it

could help.

Let me know if anyone has any luck in that:)

Hi Mo,

Just keep up some of those " fatty asses " recipes, I'm sure Allie will put on

the pounds. I'm glad she had a generally good check-up, and that the chest

congestion is gone :-) I love the, " I'll only culture for macaroni and

lasagna " comment, too cute.

Ah, speaking of which, here's my cute kid story of the day. Kailin (7) has

lost 6 teeth already, and Meagan is SOOOOO jealous of the tooth fairy gifts

which Kailin finds under her pillow the next morning. So, yesterday Meagan

brought me a note she'd found under her pillow. It read, " Meagan, I'm sorry

you haven't lost any teeth yet. " Inside a picture of a tooth, it said, " I

love you Meagan, " and at the bottom, it was signed, " The tooth fairy. "

Since Meagan can't read yet, she didn't notice that the " tooth fairy, " whose

handwriting mysteriously resembles Kailin's, had spelled " sorry " " s-o-r-e " .

Meagan was delighted, and put the note up on the fridge for us all to see.

There are times I REALLY like my 7-year-old :-)

bye,

Dear Mo,

Although I did not have your previous corrections experience, I have exactly

the same feelings about cpt. We have not done it. does use the

flutter, with some prodding. (Does Allie?) It is quick, easy, and our

doctor prefers it. He says that there are studies showing that the flutter

is more effective than cpt in many cases. Since 's pulmonary

involvement has been minimal, I don't feel like having to push one more

issue with her.

Oh, the doctor has been trying to get a vest. The insurance

declined, and we've been in that circle for a while. After she cultured PA

(about a year ago) he felt the vest would be good for her.

Good luck!

And really anyone else who may be interested in the vest.

American Biosystems is offering an Open enrollment plan right now. What

this means is that as long as you can get a letter of referal sent to them

from your cf doc you can get the vest.

From my understanding they try to bill your insurance company and if they

deny you don't get the vest and it is up to you and your doc to appeal, well

right now they are not doing it that way. As long as your doc writes the

referal you get the vest and then they bill your insurance. If they deny,

American Biosystems works on the appeal.

It is really a good deal. Kodey should be getting his at the end of the

week. I am so excited.

If anyone is interested in this please email me and I will send you the name

and 800 number of the gal I spoke with yesterday.

Take care,
