Guest guest
HI everyone, I have a rather stupid question. I went out yesterday to do a bit of shopping and one of the things I wanted to get was the Atkins book...well...what did i forget? yup, the book....duh. anyway, the question is, are you limited to a certain amount of food at each meal? and how many carbs are you allowed? i think i read on some website that you start with 20 or less grams, then up to like 55? And how much protein do you need each day? i need around 120 grams since i just had a gastric bypass. sorry to be such a dummy, i would go back out to the store but i had surgery 3 weeks ago and i'm still pretty sore. :-) Janet

Guest guest
OK Run down on induction you have 20 grams of carbs a day then after the first two weeks you up your intake by 5 so the third weeks you will be taking in 25 grams of carbs a day not a week. and so on and so on till you stop loseing weight then you back down to where you are comfortablke to lose weight. It's delicious!! Bought an ice cream maker that you keep the frozen cylinder in the freezer. About $50 at Target. The " tips " and notes are from my experimenting with the recipe 1 pt. heavy whipping cream 4 egg yolks 1 tsp vanilla 7 pks Sweet One* 2 pks Equal* 1 oz. unsweetened chocolate (I use the Hershey unsw. bars) 2/3 c. water Shave chocolate into flakes, set aside. Heat cream on low heat. Whisk in egg yolks one at a time. Stir in chocolate. Stir constantly till it thickens and choc melts. Remove from heat. Mix in water and vanilla. Then mix in AS to taste (I add Equal last when the mixture has cooled a little.) Put in fridge and let it get cold (goes faster when you put it in the machine if it's cold). Stir before pouring in machine. PS I save the whites for omelettes or other recipes. >> will this recipe work in a regular electric ice cream maker?
