Sara: I take it. It helps with the pain. It actually eliminated the pain for me. I am still working on the burning ...it is getting less and less. The only side effect for me is sleepiness. In the afternoon, it MAKES me take a nap. And at night, I sleep like a ROCK! hugs, ml who found that elavil made me a zombie and caused weight gain

I feel that my appetite has increased a lot and my metabolism has slowed down in the year I've been taking it. I gained 10 pounds this year - I've always been thin and have never gained that much before. It's been very hard to take it off too -I'm still working on it. ON the plus side, it has helped a lot with pain.

Yeah, Sara, you need to figure out what is causing this. I still think

you need another doctor. Maybe you should travel to a vulvar pain

specialist.

Hi MoJo,

I have the LS, hiatal hernia (sp) and tried the Neurontin for the

dysesthetic vulvodynia. I couldn't get past 200 mg. because of the

stomach problems, it caused. Good luck, so glad it seems to be helping.

Mojo, I was on 300 mgs from my gyno and it did absolutely nothing. I

went to a neurologist and he wanted me to work up to 2400 mgs of

neurontin. I was great for a month. THen I started burning again and

saw that I was still @ 90% red in the vulva area. SO I upped the meds

this past Wed. to 2400mgs. I feel a bit better and am holding my

breath that it works. So don't be upset if that small amt. doesn't

work. The side effects are getting better and like most of the

ladies, I can deal w/ them better than the burning pain.

Mojo: You are welcome about the kind words. I added 100 more milligrams in the morning. That has really helped. Nurse said to try it for a week and see. That puts me up to 1000 a day. I have been taking Neurontin since April. Lou or ML
