Egg mayonnaise, tinned salmon in mayo, omlette with cheese, scrambled

egg made with double cream.

Home made sugar free jelly - if on OWL - this is my recipe.

Half cup of warm water plus 1 tsp natural gelatine powder.

2 peaches - chopped and pureed with hand blender

2 - 4 cups of frozen raspberries. Puree some of raspberries and mix with

peach puree. Stir in the gelatine mixture Add raspberries and allow to

set. Serve with fresh double cream.

Delicious - my kids love this despite the lack of added sugar or

artificial sweetner. I prefer to use my carbs in fruit rather than

sweetners but YMMV.

How many servings are in the Jelly Alison, I was wandering and assuming

there are probably alot of servings but the carb count scares me. The

carbs look like they are between 142 - 265g carbs depending on whether or

not you use 2 or 4 cups of frozen rasberries. So the serving count would

be great!!

Martha,

My daughter is about to go for a dental op next week, to have teeth

removed from her upper gums. She's had a few out already, as she's had

far too many teeth for the size of her jaw.

She goes onto the cardiac ward for all her dental treatment. This is, as

Flo said, because of the risk of infection in dental op's that is a

risk( all be it small) for patients with a heart problem. They always

give her antibiotic cover before and after the op - which is

intrevenous, hence having to stay in hospital.

That being said, Jodie has never had a problem with any of her dental

op's - I think she has had 5 so far.

Hope this helps you

Vicky

RE: wisdom teeth

Hi Martha,

Not much more to add to what Chantelle has already said. What we

understand

from various sources (including 's special needs dentist) is that

if/when invasive dental work is needed, there is an increased chance of

heart infection which can be pretty nasty. Apparently, the risk is of

infection being transmitted from the mouth through the blood stream to

the

heart. There is a specific term for it but I can't remember

(cardio......... something or other - sorry). Does have heart

problems? We have been advised that if invasive treatment is needed,

would have to have prophylactic antibiotics before the treatment

just in case.

I am totally guessing here, but perhaps the suggested length of stay in

hospital is because wisdom teeth removal is a much more invasive

procedure

than most dental treatments? I remember when mine were taken out years

ago,

it was no walk in the park and I too ended up with a small infection.

It

may be that they want to keep an extra close eye on as any mouth

infections for her may mean greater complications than for you and me.

Just

a thought.

If she does need to have them removed, good luck to you and . Keep

us

posted. Dental concern, I guess, is probably an ongoing one for most

parents on this list.

Flo
