Guest guest
The last two days I experience a new symtom that I have not felt as intense like this before. Wonder if I'm hyper or not, or if it is weak adrenals. My muscles are trembling like if I had many cups of coffee. But I hadn't. Or, the feeling is like I got shocked by something unexpected. My heartbeat is normal though and I feel very calm and relaxed. For a change, I do not feel stressed-out at all. Strange enough, I never had this trembling feeling when I was hyper from Graves. (And I was very hyper). But my arms and legs are so weak, with this trembling feeling inside. Can Armour cause this? My bodytemperature is normal. I can't do any excercise though. Today I walked -slowly- for an hour but I feel exhausted. I didn't do any household errands. I have to save my energy. I wanted to go to a lecture tonight, and got dressed and prepared for it. But finally I felt simply too weak to get up and go. I have had better days though, on Armour and even synthetic thyroid, but it seems such a long time ago. I'm on Armour for 5 months now. 3 & 1/4 grains. A while ago I upped with 0.025 T4. Immediately another symptom vanished: my sore tongue. But the 0.025 increase was too much or too fast, I got heartcramps and fast heartbeat. Then I lowered with 0.012,5. But now, with this decrease, my sore tongue has come back, accompanied with my dry skin. So ofcourse I feel sad, depressed and very frustrated about it. My mineral-metabolism is bad, one very thin and ridged nail hurts. Wonder if RAI has also damaged my parathyroid, by the way. Am I an hopeless case? Margreet. Guest guest
Hi Margreet. No, you are not a hopeless case!! I was the most HOPELESS case I had ever seen then or since, and I got to where I am today! I think there are several possibilities to look into, and we just have to do some sleuthing!! First, the reason the added T4 might have initially worked is because it was converting to T3, and the extra T3 was helping. Raising the Armour instead of adding the T4 might have done the same thing. So...what you may have done is overdosed on T4, I am strongly wondering. But the trembling...yes, it might be the adrenals. But I am wondering why this would show up now instead of earlier... So before you added the T4, you didn't have the trembling?? When you say your heartbeat is normal, what is it? And what is your temp? Have you ever tested your Ferritin? And can you afford to do labs? Janie > The last two days I experience a new symtom that I have not felt as > intense like this before. Guest guest
Hi Janie, thank you so much for thinking with me. And saying that I'm not a hopeless case ..... But I DO wonder how much more RAI has destroyed in my body besides my thyroid ..... Anyway, ofcourse you're right, the synthetic T4 might give me those problems again. It can not be the Armour. On the other hand, I thought that too much T3 from Armour was probably the cause of me still not being balanced. Some people do better with the added T4. I'm still giving it a try, waiting for 3 more weeks before I can get some bloodwork done. The reason why my adrenals show up now, might be, that I have never recognized the symptoms earlier, he he he.
