Guest guest
Hi, Tracie, Actually, I was only Lupus " suspect " for 30 years. I was dx'd with RA, Sjogren's, IBS, Lyme Disease, Myofibrositis, and adult onset diabetes all before they removed the " suspect " from my chart on the SLE question. My ANA's were always positive, but not high enough for them to say definitely. Then, in the last year or two, I have gotten significantly worse, and had so many flares, they have decided that it is definitely SLE. So, I can't say what triggered what...it all seems to go with the autoimmune territory. Sorry I couldn't be more help. Love, MM

I was diagnosed with SLE in the fall of 2002. I'm still in the learning stages and learning what to expect and how to cope with this disease so any info I can get would be appreciated. I have done a lot of research and it seems I find more and more related complications and I was wondering if those are symptoms of other underlying conditions. Guest guest
Hi, Kathy...sorry you're having doctor problems and there are no alternatives. Good doctors need to keep up with the most recent developments and obviously you've got one who isn't. You're absolutely correct that 150 is way too high, as evidenced by the fact that your husband already has neuropathy (foot and now hand problems). However, with good attention to getting BGs down to nondiabetic levels, this can be reversed. I strongly suggest you read " Dr. Bernstein's Diabetes Solutions, " by K. Bernstein, M.D. It's an excellent book with lots of concrete suggestions. He also has a website with lots of good stuff, the URL is http://www.diabetes-normalsugars.com/index.shtml If you can't get it from your local library, you can buy it online from either Amazon or 's. The 's URL is www.powells.com Good luck. Vicki question >>. DH has already problems > with neuropathy in his feet and it is starting in his hands now also so we > really want to get the blood levels down and keep them down before any > other problems develop. Told him I'd ask this very helpful list. His Dr > doesn't keep up on the newest treatments of diabetes, he is a family > practitioner and says he can't keep up with everything since it changes so > quickly. We live in a very small mountain community so changing Drs isn't > an option since we go to the best in town already. > Thanks for any help. Guest guest
, have you tried a warm/cool bath? Since I know that you can't take most meds....maybe doing what I have to do with Petey would work for you... If he gets a temp like that, I am to give him a warm/cool bath, Tylenol, and only put like a diaper and T-shirt on him. The less clothes, the better, but he still has to wear a shirt so that he doesn't get too cold. The baths are to be taken every hour or so...if possible. Otherwise, you can try to give yourself sponge baths with warm water. Then the Tylenol..... Tonia -------Original Message------- good evening. have a question. i am running a temp from 100-102.because of this temp it seems like the rsd is firing really bad. hasanyone had this experienc? it hurts real bad. i feel like my body isaching and being stabbed. thanks for the help. cathy ____________________________________________________ IncrediMail - Email has finally evolved - Click Here
Guest guest
-------Original Message------- He said that since I am already taking perks which have Tylenol in them, the only thing I am permitted to take is aspirin to make the fever go down a bit. STACEY ============================================================ Stacey, You could probably take Motrin IB, Advil or something like that also. I'm allergic to Asprin...so, when I was sick with a fever, I was told to just take Motrin IB every 4-5 hours, instead of every 8 until the fever went down. Also, like I mentioned....lukewarm baths helps out alot too. When Petey was sick back in December, with that Flu that was killing all of those kids....He was running fevers of 101-104. All I could do was give him the baths, sponge baths, and alternate Tylenol and Motrin every 4 hours. Plus, instead of drinking his Formula....I was to get Pedialyte and Gatoraid for him. They do have the Pedialyte in Popsicles.....they cost like $6 for a box of 30, and they come in different flavors, just like regular popsicles. THESE are 100x's better for someone who is running a fever and isn't really able to eat much. They have the Electrolytes that we need to keep our bodies from getting Dehydrated. Gatoraid, 7-up, and any other sports Drinks will Dehydrate you more than they help. So....in my opinion, ANYONE here that has the fevers with the RSD....should go and get the Popsicle Pedialyte, and keep them in the freezer. That way, no one gets dehydrated...which, with the RSD, we tend to dehydrate easier anyways. These are in the Baby Aisles....right next to the Formula for Babies. You can get the Pedialyte in liquids also....but, the flavors aren't that great. You can get Orange, grape, no flavor and in some places, Bubblegum. But, at least the Popsicles are in the Normal Popsicle flavors that we grew up with! Just an idea...for everyone. Guest guest
Diane...I want you to know I've read your post and I'm sorry I can't offer any help! No experience here for what you need but others will answer! I can pray. Mama-Sher, 69; IPF, 3-06, OR.Don't fret about tomorrow, God is already there! Question Almost overnight, my sats have fallen drastically. I used to be able to walk out and get a glass of water without any O2 but almost overnight, that is no longer the case. I am dropping into low 80's just walking a few steps. Also, with O2 on 4lpm, I am still dropping to high 80's. Is this normal? I didn't think that deterioration happened like this. Also, the pain in my ribs has intensified. I have been taking morphine for the pain but didn't need to use it too much. Now, I am taking it every 4 hours.
