Hi!

I just started and haven't actually read the books. I'm a nurse and I have

a lot of friends do the diet successfully, so I have a good idea of what's

going on. However, I don't know exactly how much water to drink per day.

How much is enough?

As much as you can stand :-) Actually, you need to have AT LEAST (8) 8oz

glasses + an additional 8oz for every 25 lbs you need to lose. Swim in it,

LOL

Steph you might have a hard time putting your body in ketosis and yes

even with my antiabotic i was small and trace this heat wave thru me

all the way out. I test ketosis 2 times a day. Sue

I have the same problem, but I like drinking sparkling water with a lemon or

lime. Or just sparkling water w/added lime flavor (No sodium) And of course

no sugar added! Also, I have been buying a case of bottled water, and I just

drink out of the 16 oz bottles all day. That way I know exactly how much I

drink. Stick a little peice of lime in...yum yum! Hope that help.

Sue or anyone who can help....I am having a really hard time taking in

enough water. I read that it needed to be 64 oz of water and that caffiene

free diet drinks or other beverages couldn't count toward that....I might be

able to train myself to take in more fluids in the form of tea, etc but I

can't stand that much of the plain water. Any suggestions?

Thanks for the suggestions Mollie. I will try the straw and see if it

helps. Is there any certain reason you only use a little of the tea? Can

it not be used full strength?

Morning Sheila!

I wrote to the group a few weeks back about this same issue. I tried

sparkling water ( which was good but loaded with sweetners). I tried

Crystal Lite which was ughhhhh. I marked a gallon jug and kept it in the

fridge and only manage to drink half of it on a good day. I have to force

myself to drink as much as I do. I can't think of any other alternatives

for H2O. We're both stuck! ;D

I use to have a really hard time drinking enough water (now I drink

10-12 a day - everyday)- this helped me...

1- use a straw... you seem to suck more down or something, It always

made it easier for me. - a squeeze bottle works for me too!

2- I have an herbal tea - lemon flavor (caffeine free, sugar free) and I

would add a 'dab' to the water, very little - just enough to give it a

tinge of taste.

3- drink at least a small glass of water before each meal - this also

helped me to fill up.

Now that my body has gotten use to drinking so much water it craves it

and its much easier to drink it. It actually harder for me not to drink

it!!!

Hoped this helped!

Shiela did you get the no cal no carb and no sugar sparkling water

you can also dilute this 1/2 and 1/2 for the taste so it isnt that

strong. Sue

Great idea! I'm going to try that this afternoon! It is in the 90's and

very humid here today, so that will be sooooo refreshing!!! :o)

Sheila in TX-

You're suppose to drink pure water... this is what the body needs. Tea

in full strength doesnt count towards your daily water intake so I just

add a touch and it doesnt really hurt, the water is basically still

pure, but with a little flavor.... by the way- it's noon here and I'm on

glass number 6 already!!!!!!! I'm floatin!!! ha ha

Mollie:

I think your story is one of the reasons I fudge (oh, I love that word!) on

water. Being a veteran dieter water was always naturally being forced.

That meant interrupted sleep and not being able to go any distance without

calculated stops. I do a massive amount of travel and the turnpike does not

take into consideration all of us water drinkers! :>

I tried this and made it twice today. Boy what a way to curb the sweet tooth

Thanks Jayne:

You have told me what I need to hear. That I will want water. I was just

floating in the pool wondering why my skin just couldn't suck up the water

and why I have to force it down.
