Guest guest
Hi ! Wow Noah sounds like he is doing amazing!!! Go Noah!!! Yep -you are right on schedule if you check all my posts on this in the archives. You have the first plateau where you increase to two capsules in 3-6 months (they never really stop progressing -just go to more of an apraxic normal rate of s..l...o...w again) Then they surge again for another 3-6 months which brings you up in most cases to around a year. They keep progressing but just " not as fast after around a year (when for younger kids you will be only on 2 capsules a day of ProEFA) and that's when you " increase to two capsules of ProEFA and one capsule of ProEPA and you'll see more surges in a day to three weeks again " So...let us know. The increase in the ProEPA is reported to help smooth out some of the older apraxic child speech patterns. Know it worked like that for us! Tanner's surge was very noticeable and within a week. Also -as I've posted before once on the oils -you will have trouble knowing for sure exactly the reason for the delays. Not just ProEFA -but the right combo of Omega 3/DHA and EPA and Omega 6/GLA (which ProEFA is one of the brand names that appears to be along with Efalex and Eye Q) in Dr. Agin's words " seems to help the brain rewire somehow " So children with PDD may present more as just apraxic -children with apraxia present a bit more as a child with a phonological disorder, or speech language impairment...or fill in the blank. Take your child with apraxia on the oils to 7 professionals so you have a name to call it for each day of the week! But as one mom to another -I could care less what you call it at this point -if it can help to get him talking right -they can say he was " just a late talker " (I'll know they are wrong -and can prove it if I stopped the oils -but would rather they think they are right than do that!!) Awareness of hidden talents and abilities -appropriate multisensory therapies and educating -the right oils -keeping self esteem high - no verbal based IQ or receptive testing..and our kids are on the path to bright future! Happy Holidays! =====
