I said it before I'll say it again, your attitude directly affects that unborn's child's mental and physical health long before it sucks it's first breath of air. Clubfeet or not, our little ones are all miracles. Relax and enjoy the new life you have been blessed with. The rest will be taken care of in time... Guest guest
Wasn't she a wealth of sunshine. I hate people who like giving bad news to expectant mothers. Gee, only 200? Is she sure it's not 247? If your ultrasound had not picked up the clubfeet for whatever reason (which often happens, 's didn't show up either), you would be happily pregnant now with otu a care in teh world.... Suppose the ultrasound technitian was on vacation and you didn't see the feet until 22 weeks...instead of 16 weeks...would they be looking for problems? Would you be as worried today as you are now? What if -- your doctor didn't do routine ultrasounds and you didn't have one clue about it now? Knowing doesn't change fate. Don't dwell on the POTENTIAL for bad news. That potential would be there if you didn't have a clue about the club feet, wouldn't it? It would be there if the child didn't have club feet. But you wouldn't be fretting, either, would you....the bliss of ignorance can be a beautiful thing. Its always a gamble, pregancy is -- there are no guarentees anybody will have a perfectly healthy baby! Sometimes a bad amnio diagnosis is wrong and there is not a problem.....I wonder how many healthy babies are aborted based on amnio results? it's not an exact science and we can't conduct our lives on those tests or the opinions of scientists with more brains than faith. Sometimes we get too much information -- and other times the addage " A little information is a dangerous thing " is an accurate assessment of the situation. BE happy for you baby.
