Hi there back to ya, " blessedmomvt " . It is very interesting that

the word is getting out that there may be a connection between

plantar fascitis and hypothyroid!! LOL. It's true! And...you are

right on target about your lab tests! You need a free T3 and free

T4, plus the antibodies, and you need to demand it, not hope for it.

If necessary, find a doc who will do them...or you can view the labs

in the LINKS section of this site who will do them without a

prescription!

2.1 is not alarming. But it tells you very little. You can have a

fair TSH, and have a minimal T3! T3 is the thyroid hormone that

gives you energy and overall HEALTH!

And, blessedmomvt, SYMPTOMS are far more important than labs anyway.

Unfortunately, we have a SLEW of docs out there who consider labs to

be GOD!! Because of that, perhaps millions of folks go undiagnosed.

And, folks like so many of us who used to be T4-only meds like

Synthroid are told that because our labs are " normal " , our problems

CANNOT be thyroid. WRONG.

The test that you had is the least diagnostic test for thyroid, and, in

fact, has caused more diagnoses of thyroid problems to be skipped over than

at any other time in thyroid history. BTW, what is a cascade test? The

test you had is a TSH test. You're right, you do need the Free t3 and Free

t4, primarily.

One source on E-Medicine says that the TSH is usually highest in the

afternoon, and then higher again in the evening. I'd like to know where or

how any of them test for this one, and when did they do this study. I have

not looked for info on this, but ran across it other day on said website,

looking for something else there.

My very first TSH test was in the 2.0 range also and I didn't get diagnosed

until it went above 5.5. Did you test in the am? TSH is highest while we

are sleeping, so it's best to test as soon as we can after waking up. By

2PM, TSH is at it lowst.

tests done, you mentioned is an excellent idea! When you get the results, post

Hi ladies,

I justwanted to to introduce myself (thank you Dee for inviting me

here) and say how comforting it is to see that I am not alone in

my " misery " (and I'm sorry you're all there with me!) :-(

I find it amazing that this is being ignored by the medical profession

when there are so many of us suffering this way and from what I've read

everywhere, we all have similar symptoms. I too have suffered with

IBS, acne rosacea, dry, red eyes, and yeast infections, and have

various food intolerances. I often wonder if this is allergy related

or if it could be the remains of an incomplete yeast cure. And by the

way, for those of you with the red eyes and rosacea, have you been

tested for Helicobacter Pylori? I don't know if I had it or not

because I didn't wait to be tested, I just took the natural cure for it

(Mastik gum, DGL licorice root, ginger capsules and digestive enzymes).

I cannot swear to having had it, but what I can tell you is that the

rosacea and the red eyes have gone - for the last three months. And I

can't believe it.

to get back to the vulvar question, I started my problems many years

back when my vagina started drying up , my sex drive disappeared, and

sex started becoming painful, with terrible burning afterwards. I used

lots of vaginal lubricants, but nothing seemed to help. Then I started

having actual " blisters " just inside the opening to the vagina, where

the remnants of the hymen are, but only on the left side (I noticed

many women mentioned the left side - is this significant??). And by

now I was almost constantly itchy as well. One of the many gynaes

(idiot) I visited told me it was a herpes without even bothering to

test it. Others gave me various estrogen creams - nobody ever mentioned

testosterone which I thought I needed. I also developed a painful

lesion, like a cut, near the blisters because of the friction of the

now thin and delicate membranes during sex, and this just wouldn't heal

up at all. In the end, the last gynae I went to decided to remove the

lesion and do a biopsy at the same time.

The biopsy was fine - no cancerous cells, no LS. After the op, the

itching stopped, but the burning and irritation has continued and is

really getting me down. The gynae has only given me estrogen ovules

(Ortho-Gynest) to use once a week, but they are not helping me except

to render the tissues more lubricated. The burning continues. I feel

like the left side of my vagina has been scraped by something. I

cannot even begin to think of sex. My husband has been very patient,

but should I expect him to live without sex forever?? It is not fair

on either of us - I really hate living like this.

I have now just started taking the ThreeLac probiotic cure for yeast

along with the digestive enymes and oxygen therapy drops which go with

it to see if that helps to kill off any yeast I may have lurking

about. I have been taking ginger capsules (I continued these as ginger

is a good anti-inflammatory) and omega 3 and 6 supplements for a while

now. And I have added MSM as an extra supplement. It's an organic

form of sulphur which helps in arthritic and auto immune diseases, and

And I have an appointment to go back to the gynae to demand some

testoserone to use with an estrogen cream instead of the ovules he's

given me.

I am determined to beat this thing. Somehow or other. I want my life

back. I want my jeans back! And I really wish the medical profession

would start taking it seriously.

By the way, can anyone supply me with the details of those two doctors

mentioned in Sydney? Bradford interested me - I will be in

Sydney from mid to end February and would love to go and have a check

up with her. and what sort of doctor uses biofeedback? Would it be a

physiotherapist? Is it worth trying?

I don't think we could help you at all. We aren't medical people and we

can't diagnose you. You have every right to ask for and get a copy of your

medical records surrounding the need for and the actual description of the

surgery you had.

If it were me, I'd do that AND I'd call the doc and get an answer.

with interstitial cystitis and I've had a total hystorectomy 2 years

ago due to ovarian cysts, fibroids, endometriosis, pelvic

pain/irritation, unbearably painful periods with very very heavy

flows, and cronic BV. This was all before I was diagnosed with IC.

Right after my hysto, the performing doctor told me I had something

like cancer, but not. I still don't know exactly what he was

talking about... why do they talk to you about important stuff when

you are still all druged up from surgery is beyond me. He said

something would have eventually turned into cancer if I hadn't had

the hysto. Does anyone here know what he could have been talking

about? I think I asked him, but he never gave me a different

explanation, so I just let it go... after all, it is gone now, so I

suppose I don't need to worry about it now. Well, thanks for the

Welcome! You and I sound like two peas in a pod. I am 42 years old. I have also been searching for a cure for my vaginal infections.

I have had terrible periods since the age of 12. I had an oopherectomy 5 years ago because of severe endometriosis, I have IC, Lichen Sclerosis, and suffer from chronic yeast and BV infections. I have an appointment with a Infectious Disease specialist in July to investigate the chronic infections. He's supposed to be really good. He has an article on the Treatment of Torulopsis Glabrata Vaginitis on www.pubmed.gov that I found very illuminating.

I am not sure what your Dr was talking about. Did you trying calling your dr again and asking him for a more detailed explanation? Tell him you were still suffering the effects of the anesthesia and you don't recall what he said to you. Couldn't hurt?

Hi, and thank you, . I didn't look at the link yet, but will do right now. The doc that did my hysto is long gone to me. I'm not interested in talking to him again. I've already been to many different docs since him. I was very upset with him! He encouraged me that a hysto was the answere to all of my problems - BOY was that misleading! I'm not really concerned about what he was talking about with the cancer thingy, at this point. He removed it along with my feminen organs. I really would love to put an end to these infections once and for all, though... this is my main focus, (IC and BV, and all of the surrounding symptoms) - also, yeast, but BV seems to be the main culprit for me, yeast just follows in suit, ya know? Well, thanks for the kind words. I'm gonna look at that link now.

Obviously, the question was rhetorical, but I had no way of knowing that. I am really sorry we misunderstood one another.

There are lots of women here with useful information on BV and IC and such and I'm sure you'll get some answers. Welcome and hopefully you won't have to be here long. You'll find the right answer and one of the blessed cured!!!

Hi gabby I haven't had a chance to welcome you. I am fairly new to this site and have overwhemled with the support from these wonderful ladies. They are very well informed and if you do searches on this site you can find so much information. I too have dealt with uti's since childhood, and vaginal infections galore. I also have endometriosis and had a few laparosopies. I am still wanting one more child so not yet thinking about a hystorectomy. I am wondering what the doc meant was having something like endometrial cancer since that can occur with endo symptons.I didn't want to fule the debate I just wanted to say hi, and let you know you were heard. I hope things for you go well, and you find some relief from your pain
