Guest guest
Anyone hear from Tonia? They have been having very extreme weather in Iowa, and I haven't seen any posts, etc. Tonia, if you are getting email, let me know you're ok, please! I don't have your cell phone # at home, I left it at work, so I can't call and check on you. Jo
Guest guest
Laurie, I live 50 miles South of Sioux City, Iowa....just follow the Interstate 29 on a map down to Little Sioux, Iowa (don't blink! lol) We actually had a tornado touch down a few miles south of us, along with 4 different storms that all collided together just like a 1/2 mile outside of town. Now, that was AWESOME to watch! lol Tornado's don't bother me at all. I've been in the middle of so many while in my car....even watched one of our buildings get picked up and moved 30 feet away before it got sat right back down in the same shape it was to begin with. It was lifted into the air about 10 foot. I was in my car, like 75 feet away from it when it happened. Then, in 99, Our truck had caught on fire and was in the Car insurance's garage. We had taken our nephew's and Sami with us, and I was 6 months pregnant with Crystal at the time. We had a tornado following us although we didn't realize it until we got to the hospital where Gene's Sister was at. Then, the next day, we found out exactly how close we had been to getting caught in it....2 minutes. If we had stayed where the truck was for 2 minutes longer, we would of been right in its path. That one hit during 2 different schools in our area....during their graduation parties. 2 people were killed that we knew.....and some that we had just talked to minutes before was in their vehicles and got picked up and thrown around. When they finally let us out of the hospital basement (in a room that had all HOLLOW walls, and Oxygen and Nitrogen tanks were in the room above us.)...they made us go thru the ER. I had to CARRY my 16 yr old nephew thru there, cause he is scared to death of sirens, any type of vehicle that has a siren on it, and blood/needles. We walked right past 1 of the ones that got killed, plus 6 others that had blood all over hell and back. they made us...... So...Tornado's don't bother me anymore. It would take a monster to really scare me... Otherwise....everything went fine. We are still in a Flash Flood Warning though...and probably will be for like 5 days. We are surrounded by 4 Rivers: 3 Small ones, and then the Missouri River, which is only 1/8 of a mile from my house. All 3 of the smaller ones drain into the Missouri River.... Guest guest
Tonia, Yeah tornado's don't bother me much either. I was in a fold out camper with my family when the whole thing got picked up and turn on it's side. All of us survived with only minor injuries. I just don't like to go camping without knowing the weather forcast makes me very uneasy. I'll go look on the map for your town. We have 3 rivers that run through our town and they are high. There is a flood control project that controls downtown and some of the area surrounding it. But on the perimeter they are having flooding. Stay on the high ground if you can. Don't get your tootise wet if you can help it. Life in a boat ain't easy. Take care, Laurie
Guest guest
Ps. Does all this wet weather get to your body? The pain seems to increase with wet weather . I can forcast the rainy weather 2 days in advance. My gp. says thats bull. I don't believe him. Hoping to be able to transfer to and from tomorrow. Otherwise it's a call to the dr. I don't like that. I think he will think I'm just drug seeking. It's an old tape. But one I can't get comfortable with. Sometimes I feel I should speak to him that the patch works for about 2 days and that 3rd day is a bit hard to get through. I should be happy that I get some relief and leave well enough alone. Don't know if I should expect better coverage. Have you ever dealt with this kind of thinking? I do hope you keep dry and that your family stays safe. Get some pain free moments when you can. Tell your doctor how the patches are working and when they stop. In the beginning it takes several adjustments. I went thru the same thing for about 6 weeks, maybe more. I went from one patch (25) every 48 hours to current dose of 2 patches (25) every 24 hours. Don't sit back in pain, speak up he won't know if you don't tell him my doctor says he isn't a mind reader (but there are times I think he is) and no question is ever answered without being asked. Hope you are feeling better! Hoping for Pain Free Days,Sandi

Guest guest
Oh yeah, anyone with RSD is a human weather forcaster! Tell your doctor that if he can't listen to a patient that tells him what is wrong with THEIR OWN body, then he should just take his so-called Medical License and burn it! Its US that knows what is going on with our own bodies.......A Doctor can not just take one look at us and tell us exactly what is wrong when its not their bodyies....they don't have to live in our skin minute to minute. Feel free to print this out and take it to him if you want! So far, I have "met" probably around 900 people with RSD with/without Fibromyalgia or Neuropathy....and I have NEVER heard a single one say that they CAN"T tell what the weather is going to be......or, that Rain, snow, or any weather changes doesn't affect them. EVERYONE has problems with the weather changes, barometer changes, Humidity, cold, etc; Although some can tolerate the Humidity better than others, or the cold better than others......it still affects them one way or another. If you think that your doctor would actually talk to another doctor that Does know what they are talking about.......I could give you My Pain Doctor's phone number, fax number and address, and he could get ahold of my doctor and ask him to explain in detail....at a Kindergarten Level so that it will soak thru that thick brainless skull of his......and maybe, just maybe....He might actually learn something so that Medical License isn't a complete Fake! As for me, I can usually tell the day or so before it rains. Snow? 3 days ahead of the time. Because of all of this crappy weather....the rain, the temperature fluxuations <85 degree's and humid as hell one day, 50 degree's out and chilly the next....add rain, thunderstorms, Lightning and Thunder....> My body is KILLING ME DEAD!!!!
