Guest guest
Tim, Phew, does sound like a near miss.. I am interested, though, if this has any effect on your RSD, etc. Just really curious if it affects anything related. All that electrical current. New therapy? Lightning? LOL I'm glad that you're OK, and didn't lose all of your electronics. I've seen a TV blow up from being struck, and it's a scary thing. Guest guest
Jo, I am so lucky, went to other parts of the house after I posted and no electricity, circuit breakers kicked out before it could do any damage. I can live with two exploded light bulbs. Dang the luck no medical benefit, even went outside and held on to the electrical pole just hoping, but not even a tingle... Guest guest
Dang! I'd be at the bar too if that happened here! lol Just remember, Lightning isn't supposed to strike twice according to the experts! ((yeah, right!!!)) We've had It strike around here so many times, Its normal around here. 2 Years ago, it hit my Peach Tree. Last year, it still produced....the BEST its ever done before!!! It had split in two.....Gene had to tie it together just to keep it together. This year, 3/4 of it fell off and all I have is a little branch left. And, No blooms. darn it. We've had it hit dead center of our house and my Inlaw's house where there was nothing there except grass and dirt. Luckily now though.....we have one of those Cell Phone Towers a block from our house, in our field, and it has one of those lightning rods on the top......so that keeps all of the Bolts away! Tonia -------Original Message------- Just thought I would share a storm experience I had today. We have been getting hammered with severe storms all week; I was sitting on the couch when lightning struck a tree in the field behind the house. The hair on my body stood straight up and the TV dimmed and it exploded two light bulbs in lamps that I had on, you could actually smell the residue of the lighting in and outside of the house. My neighbor lost all his electronics which were on. He is now at the town taverin for the night.Got to Love Mother Nature.Tim ____________________________________________________ IncrediMail - Email has finally evolved - Click Here
Guest guest
Lin, I have been very fortunate this year, keep your fingers crossed it continues. We had two tornados hit town two years ago and the first one was on a Friday and took 1/4 of the roof off the house and dropped a huge ash tree. Then that Sunday another one came through and took down two of our big trees in the back of the yard and destroyed some small buildings on our neighbors farm. All this week the damage has been directly accross the road and has only knocked a few dead limbs off our trees. We had some oil wells outside of town get struck by lightning this week that were burning and then caught the holding tanks on fire, that tops the train that got derailed by a tornado last year, so now we got something new to talk about...small town living...lol Hope all is well!
