Guest guest
Tammy- I have tried that but only once. When it didn't work I gave up, maybe I should have tried a couple of times. It's worth trying again. Thanks. Guest guest
Tammy and Wendi- Tonight I sat down to feed Davian and he started playing again. I put a chair in the bedroom closet and sat in there with the door cracked. As soon as I started nursing he STAYED latched on and fell asleep! YEAH! I will try this again in the morning if he does it again. BTW Wendi, I took your advice also. I came home and spent every moment with him until he went to bed, even had DH make dinner :-) In a message dated 5/5/99 8:12:23 PM Central Daylight Time, naturebaby@... writes: << Tammy, That is such a good idea. I couldn't agree with you more about being stressed. Why do you think he's biting down though? Do you think he could be teething already (he'll be 5 months on May 10th)? Thanks again. I think Davian is just going through a period of time where he is more interested in playing than in eating. Don't worry he is going through a normal phase. When they get past three months they start to have a little fun and don't want to eat as much. I know how frustrating it can be with the mil. Just keep offering him your breast. When you are home from work try to just be with him and not worrying about the house. Try to spend a lot of time nursing him when you are off work. He might just be shifting his eating schedule so he can eat more in the afternoons when you are there. The best thing you can do is to relax, it seems like you are pretty stressed. Guest guest
, He always from day one would hold on to my nipple by clamping down. When he really started getting teeth at 4 months it became a huge problem as he was biting me like 5 times a day and I was in pain. I started walking him to sleep with the pacifier and then when he was almost asleep I would sit down and nurse him. Also if I could get my milk to let down before nursing he wouldn't bite as much. He stopped around 6 months when he figured out that my breast would go away if he bit. Wendi Re: venting & advice needed From: LilNukie@... Wendi- Did he start biting on you like that? Guest guest
Four to five month olds are extremely curious about their surroundings. Many women get discouraged at this age, and think the baby is not interested in nursing anymore, and give up nursing. I think if you keep this in mind, that it is only a stage, you will be able to handle it much better. I know my dh was this way at this age, and I thought I was going to lose it! Keep offering him the breast as much as you can, and let him be take the lead. Of course be sure he is having enough wet diapers. If he has enough wet diapers, you know that he is getting what he needs. Hang in there! All the other stress in your life isn't helping either! Arg.... it is so hard to work with little ones at home. I admire you for plugging away at it and nursing through it all. Guest guest
Tammy- Well I do prefer the rocking chair over the chair in the closet LOL, but hey, whatever works. I did have to go to the closet again this morning but I hope he'll grow out of this fast as there are not a lot of interesting things to see and do in a dark closet for myself.
