Guest guest
The trick to ridding your household of the c.pestis is NO WATER. The >critter just turned brown and after a few weeks of sitting around dried >up. IMPORTANT NOTICE <bigger>Once again folks, and I want to reiterate this point, do not underestimate the c.pestis bug. It is incredibly insidious and resilient. Do not try this at home. Dr. Uphoff and company are working diligently for a cure or control. Until they are successful, I suggest you contain them as best you can and take universal precautions. There would also be a direct benefit in sending any of these critters post haste to Dr. Uphoff and company for study and research purposes. Email me directly and I'll provide the address for mailing (not). </bigger> At 03:00 PM 13/08/99 -0300, you wrote: > > >Jenni > >I once had one of those c.pestis critters in my kitchen window. Guest guest
Okay, Okay, this was bound to happen. Thanks Meg for having the courage to ask - I'm sure lots of people have been scratching their heads about it. You can blame this confusion squarely on Jen U. There has been a long running joke that started about <color><param>8080,0000,8080</param>CHIA pets</color>, then that got expanded (by some helpful folks who shall remain nameless) to <color><param>8080,0000,8080</param>CHIA pests</color>, and now, the bacteria version was dubbed as <color><param>8080,0000,8080</param>c.pestis. </color> Several of us have had many belly laughs into the wee hours about this topic which either shows we share a particularly bizarre sense of humour, or that we just have way too much time on our hands. So, don't be alarmed (unless of course your child's throat culture results come back as colonized with c.pestis) and please give us the latitude to continue being silly, at least until we get sued by the Manufacturer of CHIA Pets (if anyone really accepts the responsibility for creating and marketing these creatures). I am sorry for any confusion this may of caused. (But, really, it's all Jennie's fault ;-) Mo, mom to 4yo twins, and andra (wcf) and 22 mos Jordan At 10:22 PM 16/08/99 EDT, you wrote: >From: MMolls@... > >what is this? >I don't want to sound dumb but I must have missed the explaination and I know >I can not be the only one who is lost on this topic so I will be the first >Geek to ask! > >Meg >Mom of Maureen 9yowcf & Kate 4yowocf > >---------------------------
Guest guest
HAHAHA I have the suspicion that the fingerpointer is the guilty party, that would be YOU Mo!! lol, too too funny love, who has one dead chia pest in her kitchen, waiting for chia seeds to be donated so she can grow it again Re: c.pestis Okay, Okay, this was bound to happen. Guest guest
Uh, oh---we're in trouble now!!!! do not dispair, c.pestis are chia pests, I don't even remember how this got started. I think I teased Mo @ her hosp. being named chia--then she wrote a funny comment back, then someone else wrote it was pest, not pet (they thought), then we all joked back & forth that it was the newest bug to CF, then Torsten had the predicted end of the world being by raining chias.....then Ron re-named it as a classification bug, and so on...anyway, we mostly put in statements like newbies: this is a joke--sorry if you missed all th preceeding stuff...the crazy thing is, his cpestis bug has had an eery effect on me; suddenly, I am not so paranoid about every potential cf thing, I feel better able to cope these days (maybe humor has that effect?) Sooooo--don't worry, only us crazy parents are affected by cpestis!!! (but just in case, mo prob. did shake her kiddos real good--and, I think she left a shirt here--must've thought it was too contaminated!!!!! Guest guest
Hey Meg, No clapper for this chick - my bet is that Jennie has at least two! We actually don't get this stuff in Canada - not enough of a market hahahaha! Humour is the best medicine, Mo At 07:53 PM 17/08/99 EDT, you wrote: >From: MMolls@... > >Do you people also have the " Clapper " ? Guest guest
Nope, no clappers here either, unless you want to re-name all those little rubber cups we use for cpt clappers (how many weeks before that confuses someone???), then we have maybe 20 or so, but only about 5 we can find, one for each room we spend time in. You see, my kids love cpt, no idea why, but they like it, so we grab every opportunity. And I will say that they are much healthier since we started doing cpt when they were diagnosed...again, its very individual, my neice only does the vest once a day for 15 minutes just to stay in the habit.... Oh, and why can't we find the other 15--well, the kids also like doing cpt on their dolls, etc so they steal them!!! (and on each other, though we discourage this, they sneak.....imagine that! my little angels being sneaky!) whoever referenced the Dr. calabrese thing--thank god for that family that she is helping them even they don't know they need help!!! I hope she finds them. anyone on here from Kansas? Take care, and we leave in about 4 hours hopefully tomake that loooooong drive home. nothing exciting is allowed to happen in my absence, ok? At least no cure for c.pestis or anything. Mo, if they cure CF though, would you please call me on my cell phone? Thanks and take care all, Jen
