Synthroid seems to have its own bad side effects. Armour has no bad side effects. The main thing is to make sure your doctor isn't dosing you by your TSH. She should be looking at your Free T4 and Free T3 levels. Get your Free T4 to mid to upper range and Free T3 to upper range or slightly over. Mostly...treat by symptoms.
