Guest guest
Margreet The fact that you can eat rice, but not other grains, makes me think that you may have Celiac Disease, which is another autoimmune disease. It has many of the symptoms that you have described here, including the fatigue and weakness. I can't remember the name of the antibody test for it. Is it Antiglyadin or something like that? It involves antibodies to particular parts of the intestines, so that nutrients are also not absorbed properly as well. Have you had this antibody test? Rice is the ONLY grain that a Celiac can eat, except for one other grain, I believe. Can't remember the other grain either. Re: Liver > Hi Pam, > > I take about 5 tablespoons a day, sometimes more. Guest guest
If you're not feeling well, this could very well be the cause. So they say, it does have kinds of symptoms, including bad fatigue, for most. Gluten is in so many things, even including some canned soups and things like that, that are so subtle, and you'd never dream that it's in there, or maybe, rather, wonder why it's in there! Guest guest
Happy Belated Birthday, Margreet! in Va. Hi there , It's so nice you're saying this, because I never realised that Celiac Disease is an -other- autoimmune disease. I had the antibodytest two years ago. But my doc said it would most likely not show up in my bloodwork and that I needed a biopsy from the intestins. It didn't show up in my bloodwork and than the next step was to put a tube through my stomac towards the intestins. So I thought, well, ehh, I'll keep my diet anyway. And since I usually have no diarrhoea I can live with it. Yesterday I have eaten a lot of bread and cheese cake, good junk-food, and now I feel sick, hehehe, it was my birthday ..... <<< 40 >>>. And although I've enjoyed eating it very much, I feel guilty that I can't control myself better since after that I have a metabolic setback for days ...... And I guess I love eating rice so much since it tastes so nice and never gives me problems. Thank you for mentioning this! So I do have celiac then. Probably a mild form? Margreet.
