Guest guest
Janie, I forgot to say that that site is good for both SSI and SSD and supplemental income. > I would like to tell everyone that I feel very bad about not being in here much lately , but I 've been going through a bad depression since my knee surgery ( May 3rd ) went back for a follow up today and didn't get any good news , he put me on depression med ( Celexa ) also told me that I was going to have to start using a cane and to file for my disability ...I go back in 3 months , he said that I would probably have to have a knee replacement then ....so all I've done today is sit and cried ..I have no idea how to start with my disability , about getting it started ...any help would be appreciated ...love & hugs ..Janie
Guest guest
Tim...yes I'm talking about SSI and thanks for the link , I will check it out , but I didn't know that you could file for it on line ...my ortho dr told me that he would help me with getting it started , he just blew my mind when he told me that I had to start using a cane , I'm having a hard time dealing with that ...Janie
Guest guest
Some positive things to think about, you can hit people with it, get moved up in line and slow everybody down in the stores just because you feel like it. Seriously though I do think you will get use to it and may find that your more mobile with it. I think your doctor has to provide documentation to Social Security but the way the website looked you provide that evidence after you file. Well I hope you have a peaceful evening and I wish you better days ahead! Guest guest
Janie, Not to be rude....but, how old are you? My Mother has problems with her knee's...something to do with calcium deposits and some how, she has pieces of them ball up and find their way out thru sores. She is very overweight....but always have been. She needs to have her knee(s) replaced.....but was told that at her age (almost 50)....she is too YOUNG! She was told that the fake knee's would wear out and have to be replaced every 7-10 years. The Specialist she see's....told her that he absolutely refuses to do the surgery until she is at least 60 years old. And, considering I've been to every Ortho Specialist in this area....they have mush for brains and Cracker Jacks Medical Licenses. So, if one of these brain dead idiots around here actually say that anyone under the age of 60 is too young to have a Knee replacement..... Guest guest
Janie, I'm really sorry to hear that your Dr. feels you need to have knee replacement... Although, I can honestly say that the people that I know who have had it done have been very happy with the outcome. My husband had one hip replaced at age of 50...(remember, my husband is a bit older than I am - LOL) he had to, and they did tell him that it may have to be re-done after 15 yrs or so, but maybe not. Depends on how much use, etc. Just remind your Drs. that they MUST take the proper precautions to prevent further spreading of RSD. And, I agree with Tim about the cane. Use it to your advantage! I know of some people who actually use walking sticks that are quite ornate instead of canes, and are happy with that. And, remember the good side. You can still walk, and that, of course, is the important thing! Hugs, Jo

Guest guest
Tonia, My ex father in law had knee replacement and he was only in his 40's.And the next year he was pose to have the other one done. I have no idea if he did because we didnt have much to do with them after that surgery. Not due to surgery but personal problems. JBTonia wrote: Janie, Not to be rude....but, how old are you?
