Lia, Wow! You are lucky! And you're right. The oxalate theory doesn't apply to everyone, but if giving up a few items will take away some of the pain, then I'm all for it! For instance, I have definitely noticed that when I drink coffee or beer the pain is worse (it feels like I have a killer UTI and sometimes the shooting pains stop me in my tracks). Beer is the worst, so I'm giving it up for good!! I'm still drinking coffee because when I tried to quit I got headaches (damn caffeine!). Now I drink a cup w/ 2 Prelief and it's not so bad (the shooting pains are gone, but the uncomfortable sense of urgency is still there). Hopefully I'll be able to wean myself off it in the end. I'm trying to do the whole low-oxalate thing, but it is too tough for me to create a menu. (If anyone can share a few recipes I'd be grateful!).

In the meantime, I'm dropping the foods/beverages that are noticeably problematic. I guess we're all searching for the root causes of our vulvar/vaginal demise. Good Luck! Angie P.S. Was the Green Mountain coffee any good? I really can't imagine giving coffee up for good! limay@... wrote: I experimented... Got off coffee, bought low acid coffee from Green Mountain, took an over the counter supplement called "Prelief" to neutralize food acid. In the end... Food has just not been a factor for me. The oxalate theory is controversial. Just didn't work for me.
