There's a woman named Bernot in Cranford which I think is in Essex - it's around Exit 136 off the Garden State Parkway -- at a Physical Therapy Place there. I can't remember the name of the place. I don't think she's nearly as knowledgeable as Pam on in NYC but she was on Dr. Whitmore's referral list and she's pretty good. If I were you though, I would travel to NYC to see Pam -she's the best. I also can highly recommend my OB/GYN, although she's not in Essex, she's in Bergen -- Dr. Weinstein in Paramus. . She has some patients with VV and she's very familiar with it also from me because I'm good friends with her as well as her being my doctor - so I've shared the wealth of info and resources I've gathered over the many years I've had this. She's very sensitive to patients with VV. Welcome to New Jersey!!!

Re: Digest Number 3172

Hi, I've been lurking for a week or so. My other vulvodynia support group is "closing" due to inactivity (myself included). A bit about me (more later when I have time) is that I have a 7 month old daughter - hence the inactivity on the list - and have suffered with vulvar vestibulitis for around 10 years or so. Currently on a treatment hiatus due to logistics - I haven't had the time to get over to NYC to see my PT and my family is actually moving from Queens to NJ this Friday. Most recently, I've had success with traumeel injections and PT - which is what caused the relief that allowed me to become pregnant :)

I have not been feeling great but not terribly either and like I said, I have not done anything since the baby was born to address my VV. I just wanted to respond to the article Dee posted, because i believe that I am allergic to lidocaine as well and I have heard of other women using other 'caine' drugs becuase of the same problem. I will try to post a little more often and will eventually give a little more history on my situation, but in the meantime, does anyone know of any PTs in New Jersey - I'm moving to North Jersey - Essex County. Also does anyone have a regular OB/Gyn to recommend around there that might be somewhat familiar with VV? thanks.
