Hi Cherity as the Mom to 8 kids . 2w/cf every child is different .but

between the ages of 2 and 3 they learn control (you have it they want it)

such as when Dad or Mom leaves if the child doesn't give a hug or kiss the

parent will not leave(control).the food is another way of showing they are

growing and learning to control what goes into their body. they also have a

way of eating enough over a month to even out an average every day near

normal. i hope this helps!

Thanks Becky. This is such a helpful list! My daughter has been doing this

for sometime and it just bothers me because I know how important eating is to

her. Hubby says I am paranoid and doctors say not to force her to eat. I

have just been letting her do her own thing. Thanks again, glad it normal!

:)

Hi Cherity,

Welcome to the list! I'm glad to hear that Ariel's been healthy :-) It's

always wonderful to hear about healthy kids wcf! I can relate to the hassle

of label reading, though in our family it's my daughter without CF who has

the food allergies. She can't eat anything dairy (you know, those pesky

code words like lactalbumin, caisin, whey, etc., etc., etc...), and she's

become very allergic to red 40 coloring lately, which rules out just about

all candy/treats. I pick up special treats for her at a natural food store

where I can get candy w/o coloring in it, but going out to eat is next to

impossible (she's also mostly vegetarian, gets sick if she eats anything

fatty, and can't have any tomatoes, chocolate, or any spices whatsoever

because of her reflux problems). Fortunately, Meagan, who has CF, doesn't

have any food restrictions, except those which are self-imposed (MAJOR picky

eater!).

I look forward to hearing from you on the list :-)

Hey everyone How's it hangin???

Hangin really low here... Actually things are going ok.. Kayla is

doing ok, she went back to school today for the first time since

surgery... I am worried about her, you know, I am an overprotective

mom...

I have been doing ok lately, not much happening. I need to get in

and get my blood drawn, as I haven't for along time... I have been

dealing with others problems, and have put myself on the back

burner. Guess thats ok sometimes.

I see I have been bouncing with the messages from the group. Maybe

thats why I have been so tired lately. All this bouncing...

YIKES!!!

I was supposed to go back to the Mayo clinic Sept 3, but had to

cancel that as Kayla has a dr apt that day for her post-surgery

check up, so thats more important..... I will reschedule mine for

October sometime...

Well now that Kayla is back in school, things should return to the

normal routine here shortly. I HOPE......

Well I gotta run for now.... Working at the shelter today...

Take care of you all...

from Iowa..
