In diabetics, the immune system is driven low because cellular

glutathione is chronically low from " putting out fires " of the

chronic oxidative stress associated with the disorder. But

glutathione is also needed by the immune system, and when glutathione

is low, infection is stimulated.

Glutathione is the natural antioxidant and detoxifier created in

every cell from precursors. These precursors are plentiful in cold-

processed whey. The most used form of glutathione also requires

selenium, which is in short supply in the groundwater in many areas.

Alpha lipoic acid is involved in regenerating glutathione after it's

oxidized, but you still need to replace the glutahtione precursors as

the glutathione is depleted, especially the cysteine-containing

peptides and selenium.

Eat avocado, high in fiber, low in carbs and full of glutathione, and

they taste good too.

I take a lot of supplements and other than diabetes and its attendant

problems, my health is good. I heal quickly, don't get colds nor the

flu, and have a good immune system.

Vicki, are you still eating your salad with avocado every day?

Avocado doesn't taste good to me--it has no taste at all except a slimey

fatty texture ugh!
