Pam

Forgive me for asking this, but if he is seeing the good results from Ian

taking the Pro EFA, why does he have to have someone else tell him that

EFA's are doing our kids good? Does he read any of the post here and all

the results we are having as a group? Isn't that enough? Please I don't

mean this in a mean way, but it just surprizes me since the majority of us

here are all seeing improvements with our children on EFA's. And for most

of us it is clear that they regress when off EFA's so what more is there? I

guess I am on the same side as G. with this one, I do speak up for

EFA's & I am no health nut!! Hey if your reading can I come see you

again & go to that neat candy store?? I just don't know where my son would

be without this list & the info about EFA's. Well actually I can compare

him to 2 other boys our slp has that are the same age as & started with

her at the exact same time. And guess what no where near as progressed as

. His slp even recently asked me if she could give out my number to one

of the moms. She was hoping she might give the EFA's a try since this child

is making little progress. Of course I said yes!!! Unfortunately the mom

has not called, poor child!!! My heart goes out to that little boy. Best

to all on the list with or without the spouses seal of approval, I think

those of us that read know what is best for our children!! That is why we

are all here. Maybe we should always step outside the box to look for

answers that is how progress is made, isn't it. I can only compare this to

a statement this week I heard at Magic Kingdom's Carousel of Progress. The

character is in the early 1900's & is talking about those crazy

brothers trying to make a machine that flys, how silly!! Who would have

known?? Oh and out side of the box as I stated earlier this week now I am a

true believer in the ride therapy theory that G. also talks about. I

saw it first hand after our day spent at Disney on Monday!! I can't wait to

go back & give it a try again next month on 's birthday.

Tammy I. in FL mom to apraxic 6 next month, 8, 19 &

23 & very sad that spring break week is almost over for us!!! Spring break

in FL just doesn't get any better!!!

Pam there's an exception to every rule -and for sure I know I

wouldn't want an anesthesiologist that was into trying alternative

methods for anesthesiology!

My friend 's husband Doug is an anesthesiologist so I know what

you mean about your husband. Doug has the same by the book

personality. (Doug Pitchford MD -le he's near you)

Then again... who is more like me personality wise got Doug

into ginseng believe it or not! Doug was complaining about " what is

all this stuff you are taking " and kept telling him about the

more energy and focus she had from it. He tried it and found it to

work for him too and now can't keep the bottles to herself

anymore. So guess anything is possible!

Also - ( -her professional name) is a producer ('Coming

up Easy' is her newest at the film festival this year

http://www.wweek.com/story.php?story=4877 ) and is very interested

in our " fish oil story " -so 'really' anything is possible!

Tammy you just give me the date and time for the candy shop -we may

just go there anyway! By the way yesterday Tanner's " girlfriend "

Emma's dad called and asked me if I thought Tanner would want to go

bowling. I said " Do I think Tanner wants to go bowling with

Emma?! " He was so excited he (at 7 years old) took a shower and on

his own picked out a cool outfit, brushed his hair and teeth and

then...ready for this? Put on some of Glenn's cologne! We were

cracking up! They had a great time -and then after that we went to

Universal for the Mardi Gras (with Donna Summer) like I told you

about. We did the Hulk twice and the Dueling Dragons both Fire and

Ice -some good results, but unfortunately still not the same effects

of just one trip on Mission Space -but fun anyway.

Boy if people think EFAs are out there! You know how my found out

by mistake ride therapy theory does work, not at all sure why yet -

vestibular system -flow -don't know why but it works as you can now

say too for . Proof is in the pudding as they say..

I know that is having great results from just the rides like

Thunder Mountain and can't do much of the others yet -but he will

soon. That's the thing with kids -they just keep growing!

And there will be rides we can't try yet either even if they have

stronger G Force. For example I hear Universal is going to premier

in June The Revenge of The Mummy which is supposed to be the next

stage of rides. There is no way Tanner's old enough for this one

yet even if he ready for the ride part.

Hi Tammy,

My husband takes no interest in these groups. He isn't

disinterested in Ian, just not a fan of chatting with other parents

about our issues, I guess.

I find it puzzling, too. He recognizes the improvement in Ian's

speech but will not give credit to the fish oil. It can be a

player, just not a causal effect. He is very conservative. Very

concrete. Very scientific. I don't even try to talk to him about

fish oils anymore. As long as he doesn't stand in the way of using

them, I leave well enough alone. It isn't worth the aggravation!

As someone reminded me... I respect the fact that he needs to see

clinical evidence. As a physician, I can understand his stance but

I choose to feel otherwise!

I also don't think my husband fully grasped Ian's deficits. He did

not take him to therapy. He sees him only a few hours a day. When

Ian started saying words the day after I gave him the ProEFA, it

wasn't that incredible to him. I'll bet he just thought he had been

saying them while he wasn't around.

I don't know. I've stopped trying to figure my husband out! He's a

good man who works so hard to allow me to stay home and raise our

children. He doesn't stop me from trying new things with Ian so

I'll leave him in his LaLa Land of the non-believer!

Sigh.

Yeah, I suppose if your gas-man offered you an herb for anesthesia

before major surgery... you'd run the other way!

I love my husband dearly. His inside-the-box thinking can drive me

NUTS sometimes but I've learned to live with it. He trusts my

judgement in treating Ian so I'll respect his naive thinking!!!!!!!!!

Now if I could only get him to stop snoring...
