& others: I guess this is another ymmv thing but I do not use the

timed release form of Ala because I found no difference in my bg's when

using it. The regular lasts over the hrs for me. I roughly take

Metformin at 6am, ALA/EPO at 9am, Metformin at noon, ALA/EPO at 3pm,

Metformin at 6pm, ALA/EPO at 9pm.

Also, in me, Biotin seems to cut the effect of any ALA rather than help.

Have no idea why but multiple testing shows it to be true so I've

dropped the Biotin.

I have not read it, but I have been told the ratio of ALA to biotin is

in Dr. Bernstein's latest book wherein he suggests 5mg of biotin for

each 300mg of ALA.

I am taking 600mg of sustained release ALA, divided, a day. And just

one 5mg biotin. Mostly because I am totally maxed out on the number of

pills I take and do not want to add any more.

Vicki, would you please post Dr. Bernstein's website? CJ, the

information may be available there.

I must start reading that book. I bought it some time ago but got involved

in reading another one first. With the ratios you mention, the ALA with

just 300mcg of biotin added wouldn't really be worthwhile. I take 2.7

grams of ALA daily, so that would mean I should take...uh, can't find the

calculator.
