Guest guest
Dear , Happy New Year. I also have sarcoid of the skin. I have it everywhere, but it is worse on my legs, below my knees. They are hard red, purple lumps but on my arms they are under the skin and feel quite large. I also have several on my breasts under the skin. They seem to be different on different body parts. Who knows why? Your's does sound like sarcoid lumps. The doc's should be able to biopsy them easily for you. Some of mine hurt to touch and some don't. You sound like you have had a real rough go of it between the sarcoid and HTML. As if one disease isn't enough. When I toast with my non-alcoholic wine tonight, I will wish that your headache will stop and you will have a better life in 2002. So here's to you kid, cheers. Love Joanne (Toronto) Bumps on my hands Dear Friends, I've been having trouble sending e-mail again, so I don't know when you will receive this. I have discovered about 35 little pale bumps on my hands and fingers, mostly on my left hand (That's just counting my palms and fingers; I haven't checked the top of my hands yet). If I press on them with a finger nail from the other hand, they hurt something terrible. At least one of them is on the last knuckle of my middle finger of the right hand. This explains why I have such horrible pain if I bump that finger into anything (almost makes me cry, it hurts so bad). For many months I've had a lot of pain in my hands when I grasp something the wrong way, but I thought it was because of peripheral neuropathy that I know I have (I've had 3 EMGs, the last one in October). My neurologist thinks this neuropathy is caused by my diabetes. I've always known that sarcoid can cause "skin lesions" anywhere on the body. But I don't exactly know what "lesions" means. I had an almond sized lump removed from my back about 13 years ago, and a smaller one just inside my left nostril not long after the first. Both tested "consistent with sarcoid." What does that mean? Does "lesions" mean bumps or open sores? Anyway, I just discovered these little bumps late last week and haven't talked to my doctor yet. I have a standing appointment with my new plastic surgeon soon because I had a lump just under my nose and my doc wanted it biopsied. By the time my appointment came around, I had scratched a little red "blister" type thingie next to my left nostril while sleeping and that seemed to resolve the matter (I bled all over myself). The plastic surgeon said it could have been something like (What's a memory?) a junction (?) of arterial blood and venous blood that formed and felt like a lump to me. So he wanted to schedule a follow up in case it came back. I think I'll go to him and ask him to biopsy these little bumps to see if they are "consistent with sarcoid" again. Beyond that I don't know what to do. They hurt like the dickens and they are all over my hands and fingers. I can't open a food jar without a lot of pain and now I think I know why. I can't even hold a dinner fork or a pen because of a couple of these things. I have to wear a winter glove just to use my cane now. Just what I needed. But now I have a better case in my Disability appeal, I believe. Do any of you know anything about this? I welcome any and all information. I'm sure Aisha knows something about this, as our resident fountain of Sarcoid knowledge. I don't mean that sarcastically at all, Aisha. You just have so much information you share with us. Well, until next time, boys and girls. Everyone, please take good care of yourselves tomorrow.
