For the coffee lovers

Just an FYI that may help. I am a huge coffee drinker and I like it

super strong. It's one thing I haven't been able to comprimise one

litte bit on! I read some info on the cold coffee presses that

remove the acid in coffee as well as " acid free " coffee.

I was having one of my worst flares ever about three weeks ago and

at the same time got my Hevla (acid free) coffee in the mail. I

went from a 9.5 to a 5 in just a few days and more importantly have

stayed there for over two weeks now. I went to northern Michigan

last week end (three hour car ride) and survived - could NOT have

done that the week prior.

During my super flare I realized that the Neurontin was not working

so I weaned myself off - and I'm on no " V " pain meds at this time

and still doing great.

For kicks and grins I am trying to avoid oxalates, as well as acid.

So far it's working. (I hate the dang diet, though, and pretty much

ignored it up to now). I even started taking Ox-Absorb - something

I thought was kind of dumb - I'm willing to try everything at this

point. Another thing I haven't done is wear underwear at ALL - it

just irritates me to no end. I wear long skirts with boots.
