,

Hang in there! I remember well the feelings I had when I discovered this group

over a year ago....the wonder and awe that there were indeed other children like

mine and other parents like me....it was and remains such a great feeling. It

is a long tough road but doing your searching is the only way to go....keep

looking for someone in your area that has heard of " apraxia " or

" dyspraxia " ...start by finding something called a " developmental pediatrician "

or a " pediatric nuerologist " .....sometimes these two specialities of physicians

have been trained in this area. But more important is the treatment...keep

looking for a therapist(s) that now how to get on the floor with the child,

maintain the child's interest and " do the therapy " at the same time...whether it

is an occupational therapist trained in oral motor or a speecha nd language

pathologist trained in oral motor, either or both can be great if they know how

to work with young children. Best wishes, Carol Holt (mom to a great kid named

Micah, diagnosed with global developmental delay at nine mos. and with global

dyspraxia at age five)
