OMG! I was sitting here thinking about this and realized that I sounded a

bit " snippety " in my reply to Margaret. I appreciate your help immensely

Margaret and apologize if I sounded anything but appreciative.

Please accept my apology....

, Oops, you made a big mistake. You just said that you know that chelitis

is correct because the doc spelled it that way, but did you check your

dictionary? Never, ever trust a doctor's spelling, always check the dictionary

or a word book just to be sure. Turns out it is actually cheilitis, which means

inflammation of the lips. I also looked up ankylo, which means bent, crooked,

in the form of a loop, adhesion. I believe ankylocheilitis would then mean

inflammation of the lips causing them to stick together, or something like that.

I have never actually heard or seen the word, but I believe it could be

possible. Just my 2 cents. Margaret

Pt has a rash around her mouth and doc dictates what s/l ankylochelitis. I

know the chelitis part is right because he spelled it. I'm pretty sure I'm

hearing the ankylo part, but can't document this as a " whole " word.

Anybody????

TIA,

, I didn't think you sounded snippy at all. As a matter of fact, I was

worrying that I sounded too snippy. I know that you know better than to trust a

doctor's spelling. Messages like that I always put out for the new people on

the list, including one of our newest transcriptionists, , and any

students who might be lurking. So I accept your apology, if you will accept

mine. Margaret
