Stacey, for your hand/arm, all you DO get is a needle in the neck...lol.

But, mine this time was for my leg, where they have to make a little bigger cut...so that they can get the Fluroscopy (mini camera) in there to find the right nerve.

Unfortunately, I'm stuck getting both kinds of blocks...upper and lower. Luckily, so far, its just my right side...

Although, it would be WONDERFUL if they could do this just once for the Whole body! Now, my leg is so-so....but the rest of my body is SCREAMING!!!

The only things you'll have to remember, is if you DO hear the doc during the block...don't move. Stay relaxed.

The other thing is that a nurse will probably ask you if you want an ice pack for the incision site, once you are in recovery. Don't forget that Ice usually will help the RSD spread, let alone make you hurt worse.
