Guest guest
Hi, I'm having my second Photoderm treatment on June 29 (or July 9 if my derm takes a vacation). I didn't notice any dramatic change after the first treatment. It seems to have taken care of the mildest redness leaving the oldest and most severe rosacea spots shining through. But I burn much less then before and I thank Photoderm for that. - I didn't experience any discomfort a day after the treatment and only a mild heat in the skin directly after. It left no marks. Perhaps we need to use more energy next time? Guest guest
Has anyone heard of a laser treatment for telangiectasia called Aura KTP laser? This is one that my new doctor uses and I haven't heard much about it. Guest guest
Hi, I also believe Photoderm is available in Seattle. I think I found a site about a Seattle clinic on the internet. Margaret H. Guest guest
Yes, I recently received some fact sheets about vascular lasers from a clinic in London and they slipped in one on the KTP aura laser too. I haven't got it with me but I'll re-read it and email you the main points. One thing I remember it saying is that it is regarded as the gentle equivalent of the pulsed dye laser. > >Has anyone heard of a laser treatment for telangiectasia called Aura KTP >laser? Guest guest
check out these sites for more info: http://www.lav.com.au/next.htm THE AURA KTP LASER The latest addition to this comprehensive laser service, the Aura combines vessel tracing and scanning for particular blood vessel blemishes. There may be some transient post-treatment redness or swelling. http://www.bermanmd.com/bsi_2_facial_veins.html FACIAL VEINS/REDNESS OF THE FACE, NECK AND CHEST Spider veins and redness of the face, neck and chest are most often the result of sun damage, genetics, and pregnancy in women. The Aura KTP laser is ideal in removing such vascular problems. Capillaries beneath the skin surface selectively absorb the light energy emitted from the laser. In this way, most of the overlying skin is spared of injury while the laser eliminates the underlying capillaries. Most patients return to work immediately without the bruising associated with many other vascular laser treatments. http://www.edmondlaser.com/hux1.html MLLeonard@... wrote: > Has anyone heard of a laser treatment for telangiectasia called Aura KTP > laser? Guest guest
Margaret, What symptoms does your cea have? I don't claim to know anything about food allergies but it certainly seems like a possibility. I just started seeing an additional doctor who is going to work with me to find out if I have any, and I can't wait to get started. I have suspected food allergies myself for some time now. Don't let the lack of results get you down too much, I'm going through the same thing. Nothing seems to help right now. But I'm still seeking additional treatments to hopefully find something that does. I just started Photoderm treatments. You have to hang in there. I feel we just need to find what works for us individually. Some people have found things that work for them, but not for others. There must be an answer for each of us. Have you considered a Homeopathic doctor? Just a thought. I've heard good things about them. I may be heading in that direction myself before long. Guest guest
<< However, my skin's appearance (pores, pimples, bumps) are not affected by photoderm.>> I guess it's too much to ask that the photoderm would take care of my wrinkles, too! Guest guest
I wanted to ask advice of anyone who's had Photoderm. I have a consultation appt with Dr. Finkelmeier at Vein Solutions this month and may possibly have the Photoderm procedure done while there. My confusion lies here-- VeinSolutions' web site indicates that facial " spider veins " can be treated as little as once, and possibly up to three times. However, Dr. Nase indicated Photoderm needs to be done at least four and up to nine times! I'm wondering if that's a general rule of thumb, or if this determination lies in the serverity of the condition. I would consider mine rather mild, and am thinking that number of treatments may be unnecessary. I'm sure everyone understands the financial burden and, like me, cannot afford to spend up to $3500. I was excited when I read Vein Solutions' web site, but am really disappointed after reading Dr. Nase's review of Photoderm because if I can't afford multiple treatments I'm thinking I shouldn't have it done at all. Any suggestions? Thanks, Kristi
