Guest guest
I, too, saw a bit of this - but I think if I saw him stopping ALL of it, I'd freak out a bit. Do you have a doc you trust to ask about it? Sometimes they do make leaps and then play catch-up in other areas, but losing ground (particularly with speech) would bother me alot. Let us know what you find out - Marina > Hi guys, > I am wondering if anyone here has any information or a link regarding > developmental regression in some areas while continuing to gain skills > developmentally in other areas...?????????? > > We have noticed that Aidan while continuing to gain abilities to play with > his rings, and learning to put things together and take them apart...learning > to use utensils and take a cup...learn to go up and down the slide, the > stairs....etc. has stopped copying us in simple sound games....Completely and > totally stopped!!!!!! > HELP!!!!!! > Hugs, > > >

Guest guest
Hi, post MMR Charlies regression was entirely in speech at first and then his behaviour dropped ( became more autistic), then his diet regressed and restricted, then potty training stopped and regressed. His physical skills , his motor skills etc continued without impediment and he developed in that area normally - running , climbing , catching , throwing etc etc . Regards Deborah D > Hi guys, > I am wondering if anyone here has any information or a link regarding > developmental regression in some areas while continuing to gain skills > developmentally in other areas...?????????? > > We have noticed that Aidan while continuing to gain abilities to play with > his rings, and learning to put things together and take them apart...learning > to use utensils and take a cup...learn to go up and down the slide, the > stairs....etc. has stopped copying us in simple sound games....Completely and > totally stopped!!!!!! > HELP!!!!!! > Hugs, > > > , (moderator of: ParentsOfSpecialKids) > MOM to preemie twins Aidan and Devlin (28 weekers) now aged 3!!!!! Guest guest
Will had a developmental regression but after a while we found out it was because of the depakote he was taking so we weaned him off the depakote and he is doing better. Still hasn't caught up but at least he is trying. Take Care Lori
Guest guest
Hi , I too expeirenced some regression in Speech and potty training. THe speech regression was 1 day where normally I understand Jack 3 95% of the time and 1 day about 5%. His prvt. ot who he saw that day mentioned it also to me that it was very difficult to understand him as did my sister through the phone, he also had some potty training regression with going from being potty trained for 3 months (with still a couple of accidents) to 9 out of 10 X going everywhere. I called his ped. who recomended a Ped. neuro who recomended a EEG and MRI which I will get done soon. Hope this helps, Eileen mom to Jack 3 and 1.9 > Hi guys, > I am wondering if anyone here has any information or a link regarding > developmental regression in some areas while continuing to gain skills > developmentally in other areas...?????????? > > We have noticed that Aidan while continuing to gain abilities to play with > his rings, and learning to put things together and take them apart...learning > to use utensils and take a cup...learn to go up and down the slide, the > stairs....etc. has stopped copying us in simple sound games....Completely and > totally stopped!!!!!! > HELP!!!!!! > Hugs, > > > , (moderator of: ParentsOfSpecialKids) > MOM to preemie twins Aidan and Devlin (28 weekers) now aged 3!!!!! Guest guest
My daughter was doing this last May. She was regressing in her speech, and then this summer she made a giant leap ahead in her speech and language. We did start supplementing with fish oil in June, and I don't know if that made any difference. I think she tends to make developmental leaps in the summer. In the summer, she's spending more time at home. It's more relaxing. She's doing things that she loves. She's swimming tons. I think all of that helps with the leaps. I hope your son makes a leap soon. > Hi guys, > I am wondering if anyone here has any information or a link regarding > developmental regression in some areas while continuing to gain skills > developmentally in other areas...?????????? > > We have noticed that Aidan while continuing to gain abilities to play with > his rings, and learning to put things together and take them apart...learning > to use utensils and take a cup...learn to go up and down the slide, the > stairs....etc. has stopped copying us in simple sound games....Completely and > totally stopped!!!!!! > HELP!!!!!! > Hugs, > > > , (moderator of: ParentsOfSpecialKids) > MOM to preemie twins Aidan and Devlin (28 weekers) now aged 3!!!!! Guest guest
I'm sure someone else has already replied with the same response, but they say when a child is really focused on a certain set of skills, say gross motor skills involving walking and running, they will go on a momentary hold on another set of skills, like language. This is usually just a phase, meaning in the life of a little one, a phase of a few weeks or so. Definitely keep keeping note of it and address it with the therapists working with him, but know too that this is typical development for many children, Betsy >From: " luckygmstwife " <suzi_knowles@...> >My daughter was doing this last May. Guest guest
Hi , Forgive me but ...don't be fearful - get the greatplainslaboratory test done . You just apply via the net , they send you details of how and when to collect the pee - you send it back and they will tell you if the gut has been compromised and is leaking. From my experience with Charlie - the quicker you start , the quicker you can halt the slide and start bringing them back up again ! I will try to get my husband to put some before and after photos of Charlie on the site ...I know what I say sounds loopy but if you could see the pictures and videos of Charlie playing , laughing , kissing , looking me in the eye in April and then the distant, aggressive shut down child he was just three months later you may be able to see that this is actually happening to some of our children and WAY more importantly , that repairing their gut does start to get some of them back. GFCF is a pain in the butt to get right but it is so worth it if it works ! If you see any signs of eye contact slipping or a drop in point try and make sure that you keep eye contact going even down to insisting ( " look at me " ) before you give a drink or sweet. PLEASE PLEASE mail me if I can help at all - but remeber too that what happened to my son is getting more common in the scheme of things but , overall it is still a fairly rare phenomena - so your little one is still probably just going through a tricky stage , or is not feeling great or whatever !
