Diane,

Are cod liver oil pills the same as vitamin A? If so this could be why such

good results. Many nutrition books recommend high doses of Vit A for a few

months then to tapper down and this is supposed to help many skin disorders.

Birth Control Pills can cause chloasma, a brown, patchy discoloration on the

face, but I have never read anything about BCPs and rosacea.

Except for the women who live in or around Tokyo. These women have the same

incidence of menopausal symptoms as women in the US because their diet is

more like ours.

Diane,

Cod liver oil and fish oil are not the same thing. Cod liver oil has the

danger of giving you toxic amounts of a certain vitamin (Vitamin A, I

believe). It is much safer to take plain " Fish Oil " .

I tried taking Fish Oil and I belched it all day. It was really disgusting.

Two days of that was too much! Terry

I think I started this discussion by mentioning to someone that we're

supposed to balance EPO with a fish oil. Our trusty Prescription for

Nutritional Healing recommends Carlson Labs Salmon Oil which I have taken

with my EPO for six months. I don't know if it does anything for my face,

but it has eliminated my joint pain.

Wanda and Diane,

A vitamin from cod liver oil is good for the skin - and not dangerous

if you don't drink to much. A table spoon a day is what I take.

  • 2 months later...

As far as cycles go my face is definetly worse and it seems for a

longer period of time related to the normal monthly changes. Now that I

am 50 a lot of things have been happening that are hard to deal with. I

haven't even gotten hot flashes yet, maybe I won't. I too have been

tested to see if my hormones are ok and they seem to be. My rosacea

hadn't really flared up and progressively gotten worse until maybe last

year.

I am still casting around for a routine that works, seems I'll be

pretty good and then all redbumpness breaks loose!

I know people have said you have to be consistent with anything to see

results and I haven't given any of the topicals much of a chance.
