HI Annie, I agree with Dusty that the spotting's probably from the estrogen since you're using the vagifem tablets & the E cream topically (I assume) it just may be a bit too much hon. Not that 'I' think it's anything serious or risky (and only my opinion) but probably is an indication of a bit too much and I'd back down a bit with it if it were me.

You also have to remember that symptoms or flare ups do continue hon for a while, and that's what's so doggone frustrating or we think things aren't working and want to give up. (I hope you don't) but just take a break from it all, sort of 'give it a rest'. ;)

Also it 'might' be a bit too much of the steroid itself, since overdoing that can thin that tissue too and make things worse, but I can't recall how long you've been on the Locaid hon and it's really one that's a lower strength so it 'shouldn't be that but... who knows? *sigh* But if you are itching badly right now it does sound like the steroid is needed, and a steroid is excllent esp. for itch.

And to confuse you even more *sorry *grin* yes itching is a sign of healing, but generally it's not that really intense severe itching, so it really is hard to say hon.

IF it's driving you crazy I'd try to get a hold of an oral prescription like Atarax if you've a doctor who'll give you that. It can work wonders, or else I'd definitely be trying an OTC one like Benedryl, Sudafed, Actifed, etc.etc. if that's available for you. Even a spray on antihistamine like they use in nose drops etc, or Benedry has a gel too tho I've never used it and I recall one person say it really irritated her even worse. *sigh*..

Wish I had more of an answer ... and sometimes if we're 'really' bad and if the tissue is all excoriated and raw..... it's best to use the very least amt. of medication and give things a break & only use something very mild such as vaseline, or Desitin or even a milk compress. (no lotions or creams as those base ingredients can really irritate)

I sure feel for you hon and so sorry an itch can drive you crazy.

Oh just one more thought since I never itched with a yeast infection are you sure it's not that since I know some people do, or even a topical jock itch (yeast as well) if it's in the pubic area. Just a thought.

Hugs and hoping for better days hon. So sorry.

Dee~

PS........ Tami , so sorry to hear you're in a flare up too running out of suppositories. *sigh*... arghhhhhhh doggonit..

Dee and Dusty thanks for the responses and input. I have stepped

back the estrogen by not using the vagifem. I am using the

compounded estrogen cream 2x daily. I have been on the licoid cream

for two weeks starting tomorrow. I also have taken a diflucan, and

taking acidophilus, and eating the strong yougart.

Can estrogen cream irritate skin? especially if it always irritated?

IYO Am I using the streiods too much?

The itch has now become more of a burn and irritation.

I know this all takes time, I think the thing that is the most

frustrating is I am scared I am not doing the right things.

I have never heard of Atarax before. i have been using Zyrtec, and

I do have Xanax which more or less decreases my anxiety.

I am going to call my doctor and see if I can see him this week.

He may be able to look at the skin and see some improvment or if it

is worse.

Any other ideas would be muchly appreciated.
