Guest guest
oh lady, you are singing my song....THANKS For asking - i look forward to these experts helping us out!!! ALL the symptoms are the same.....;o) The more I read the more confused I get. The symptoms of hypoT, adrenal fatigue, menopause, are the same in many cases. How do I know if I need adrenal support? Guest guest
It can be very confusing and is for everyone! I have a list in front of me of 25 symptoms that I have/had. Each of these are seen with hypothyroidism. 19 of them are seen with estrogen dominance. 18 of them are seen with weak adrenals. I made the mistake years ago of asking to have my thyroid labs checked and then relying on that to say I did not have hypothyroidism. I knew nothing about adrenal burn-out. So, I tried progesterone cream. It helped some but so little that I stopped. Symptoms got worse over a few years...so I tried progesterone cream again. Used lots of it. Some symptoms got better. Some just got worse and worse and then debilitating. I then changed my mind and decided I am hypothyroid. I am on Armour. Life is looking good now! :-) ( I am also treating my weak adrenals till they recoup ) I plan on continuing a little progesterone cream where I am moving onto the half century in a few years. With the environment the way it is we are all estrogen dominant. Roxanna Roxanna V. Knight-Plouff, D.V.M. The symptoms of hypoT, adrenal fatigue, menopause, are the same in many cases. I am in the midst of changing doctors, which means I will have to start all over again not only with the primary doc but also with new specialists. I am converting to Armour and it seems like the consensus here is to go slowly. I raised it to 2 grains almost 4 weeks ago. How do I know if I need adrenal support? It will be awhile before I get to the new docs for any possible testing, even if they go along with my requests. I am suffering horribly from hot flashes, which I will address on the natural HRT list which recommended. I have those waves of exhaustion which folks have been talking about here recently. I know I have to be patient, but sometimes it just gets to be too much..... ,,,,joan
Guest guest
Ok then....my experience with weak adrenals: ( these are the ones I use to gauge my adrenal improvement ) Emotional aspect: when stressed by the little things in life I get all bent out of shape. When stressed by big things, I cannot cope. When confronted or contradicted I am irrational and can fly into a rage. I did not used to be like that. On adrenal support with hc I can once again feel balanced and able to cope. Physical aspect: with stresses I would feel a sick tight feeling in my chest...tightness and nausea sometimes...almost a dooming suffocation. That would cause me to be a little on edge and fearful! Fatigue! Exhaustion! Exercise could throw me into what felt like I would collapse....VERY severe feeling...like maybe a heart attack was coming on.....not just tiredness...scary fatigue....like everything inside is completely about to blow apart. I have other symptoms that I believe are from low adrenals, but are also probably mixed into my hypothyroid symptoms. Roxanna Roxanna V. Knight-Plouff, D.V.M. Guest guest
When my thyroid meds are too low it automatically stresses my adrenals that do fine when my thyroid meds are in balance Re: Confused oh lady, you are singing my song....THANKS For asking - i look forward to these experts helping us out!!! Guest guest
Roxanna - thanks for the descriptions of your experience with hypo and weak adrenals. I fit some but not all of the adrenal symptoms. Maybe I'll just try upping 1/2 grain of Armour and see what happens. I'm glad you are being helped with the natural meds and feeling better now and I'm sure that improvement will continue. ....joan
