He also has PDD-NOS. I thought it would never end, but there is light at the end of the tunnel. I added liquid supplements to his drinks and let him have a pacifier. The supplements helped him curb the need to eat the paper and the pacifier helped with the oral fixation. As far as what people might think of your daughter with a pacifier at her age, who cares what people think you need to do what you have to to get through this stage. As far as the supplements go, do your homework and see what the primary cause of craving the wood comes from and consult your Dr. My sons paper craving was and iron deficiency due to leaky gut. He is a picky eater who also has many food sensitives, such as wheat, gluten, soy, almonds, and eggs. These were found out through a food sensitivity test by my DAN Dr. I am happy to report now that my son is almost four his paper eating days are over with the help of his "Binky", A basic liquid multivitamin, and the GF/CF diet, and a lot of distraction away from anything paper. He no longer requires the Binky, but we have continued the vitamins and the GF/CF diet just to make sure the symptoms do not return. I thought of a great idea but cant find a solution - The crib gummy rail or crib teething rail would be perfect for the doors but it is not wide enough. I also get all my GF/CF food at Tunies as well they are far less expensive than Whole foods and have a bigger variety, and if there is something you need they will order it for you.
