Dove makes pretty good dark chocolate in small pieces. Plus, I find that much less dark chocolate satisfies that chocolate need - with milk chocolate I want to keep eating it - but with dark I'm content with a couple fo squares. Guest guest
Hello dianne my knowledge of budhism is limited.......wouldn't know!! but my indian food i do knowwwww......i am trying desperately these days to move away from the traditional way of overcooking vegetables and believing more oil and richer the dish. oh dear i can imagine a few ruffled feathers coming back with indian cooking does not over cook veges, but i am afraid traditional ways do. chocolate urge: i was wondering do other ladies here get crazy urges to have chocolate before their periods start? i am literary walking back and forth from the fridge talking my self from popping a couple of pieces in to my mouth. how do u guys cope? i frankly can't resist sometimes it seems that chocolate is the only thing that will satisfy. no need to say blood sugar jumps as well as we would expect it to. i guess those who don't like chocolate are the lucky ones. those who take insulin do u adjust your dose pre- menses and post? i seem to jump up and then back down? ( without the extra help from chocolate). my endo is trying to sell the idea of me switching to a pump but i wonder if it really would make that much of a difference to justify the cost, which i must say is huge. my insurance like most does not cover pump. asra _________________________________________________________________ Don't just search. When I was doing Low-Carb but before the diabetes diagnosis I would eat Carbolite brand chocolate bars. They are not low-calorie and they use chocolate and the rest of stuff normally in a chocolate bar, only use Splenda and Maltitol (maldodextrin) for sweetness. I've not tried them since the diagnosis but may do that someday and check to see how it affects my BG. You can read about the different kinds of bars they have here: http://shop.store.yahoo.com/carbsmart/carbolite014.html I've seen the bars in Wal-Mart but that was a half year ago or so. Might be worth a look if anyone is interested. sky
