Tootie, Another thing (sorry), I have lost 16 lbs in 3 weeks. I started at

162 and I am now at 146, my goal is 123. I love this plan, I hope it works

for you. Congrats on the 70 lbs, that is great!!!!

I am not sure of the logistics of the whole muscle on top of fat, but you

just don't want to be to aggressive in lifting weights, your objective is

to lose the fat, and then tone. I would suggest doing light lifting with

high repetitions, and plenty of cardio. Cardio is going to help you to

burn fat and help with your metabolism. As far as the sugar goes,

www.lo-carb.com has Splenda granular for 6.75 and Brown sugar twin for

1.89.

I hope this helps....

Hi all,

I had to jump in about the " muscle-over-fat " issue. It is virtually

impossible for muscle to " grow " over fat. Fat cells multiply and enlarge, and

deposit themselves in various places around the entire body, their actual

purpose is cushoning for vital organs. Fat cells are able to deposit

themselves over muscle, and when one develops their muscles through exercise,

two things occur. First, the developed muscle utilizes the fat stores (mind

you, this is anaerobic exercise), then (assuming there is some remaining fat

on top of the muscle), the muscle will simply continue to develop under the

fat, which continues to have the function of cushoning. If you are interested

in the mechanics, I recommend The Wisdom of the Body, a wonderfully written

text on how the body functions, and why.Hope this helps!

They are, I just ordered some and since I ordered from out of state there was

no tax and there is no shipping and handling either. Our GNC often doesn't

have the kind I like or not very many so this will work out great!!!

Do the Atkins bars ship well? Do they get too warm during shipping? They are

not as good when they get warm and then they cool off again. Just

wondering............thanks!

Well, I misunderstood something, I thought as long as you have posted

something within the last few weeks you would not be deleted. I didn't

realize I needed to ask to stay on the list, count me in.

Sally,

Absolutely!!! Miranda is a huge help with Mallory, can change her diaper and

do her nebs, the whole nine yards (bathe her, too, but our water is hot so I

have to run the water for all of them)

I dont' think its too much to ask, actually, I never ask Miranda, she

volunteers--you can see her swell with pride when she does these things, and

she loves the way Mallory looks up to her. (I think having --our

former 13 yo foster daughter--and watching with Mallory really helped

out with this...) Anyway, I think its good for them and for their self

esteem. She also watches ph and holds him like If I have to go potty,

etc....

Now for the worry stuff tonite.....

On the way home from Mass tonite, Miranda asked me why they need to raise so

much money for CF for the walk--she says, what is so bad about CF that they

need to have a walk? (in other words, is it bad like the cancer that kills

kids at St. Jude???--these were the unspoken words, of course....) They just

did a mathathon at school for St. Jude...and Miranda is a true blue

worrier....cried for an hour when she found out they are selling the church

(to build a new one....but she doesn care, she wants this church....try to

tell her that the church is the people--trust me, doesn't work) She is so

black and white with stuff--like its bad, according to her, to build things

because building things kills animals. all fires are bad and must cause

pollution, etc.... So, did I answer her truthfullywith the CF

question--hell no, I just kinda danced around the issue and asked her why she

wanted to know, etc....and said, well, you dont want Mall to spend too much

time in the hospital, do ya? The CF raises money so they can get good drugs

like Tobi. NOt really an answer to her question, however....

Oh well.....so much for my worrier....

Nite

Thanks for your note - I have been given all sorts of information outside of

this group which does not tally with our real life situations - therefor I

have telephoned Dr Stanhope today and I have an apt for Friday to see

him for a conclusive diagnosis.

You see the strength and confidence people in the group can give.

Thank you everyone - I will keep you posted

Michele,

Your symptoms remind me of adrenal insufficiency. Do you have Andy's

book and have you read the parts about hypothalmus, pituitary,

adrenals? Does the dizziness happen when you stand up? Do you have

low blood pressure?

Just a thought.
