Guest guest
Hi ... and welcome!! I am currently " re-schooling " - enrolled in the text version @ Career Step. I took a home-study course some three years ago but feel, in retrospect, that it just may not have been quite as comprehensive as it could have been. At the time tho', I thought it was just fine. Long story even longer ... I am currently working (3 accounts) and struggling to fit this course in, but I'm quite determined as it seems to be a GREAT one. Go to: www.careerstep.com for more details and pricing. They do offer a monthly payment deal too if ya' need that. There are other good ones out there but sorry to report that I'm not familiar with most. Hope this helps ya' ...... Shel Schooling question > Hi everyone! Guest guest
Hi, Jess. Out of the three schools you mentioned, I've only heard of M-Tec. That doesn't mean that the other schools aren't good, only that I've not heard of them. M-Tec has a very good reputation. s is another distance school that is well respected. I went to Career Step and would highly recommend that course as well. There are some others out there, but these three are definitely good. If I remember correctly, some of the others are CAI, ROS, and JEBCO. Contact the schools and talk to the folks at each school that you consider. Request an information packet. Ask lots of questions. Ask them for names of their graduates who you can contact. Ask about job placement assistance. Good luck to you in your potential new career! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ IC Career Step graduate, 10/02/01 Multispecialty Clinic Notes Experience 2 months ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Schooling question Hi everyone! My name is Jess and I've been lurking on this list for a few days now. I used to work in medical records until I got married and became a SAHW. I've been interested in medical transcription for a couple of years now and now that I have a baby girl I'd like to learn this from home and hopefully work from home. I tried to ask this on another transcription list for people that were just starting out, but never got an answer, so I thought that I'd ask this here. For any of you that took a distance learning class or an online course, do you recommend any certain places to take the course from? I've done a little research and I have found the Virtual Learning Center, M-TEC (Medical Transcription Education Center), and Laird's School of Medical Transcription. Does anyone have any advice for me or recommend where they took their classes from? I'm really interested in learning this and I want to make sure that I get the best training possible.
