Deb,

How abt a grace period, of say 1 week, to allow for those who want to go

back through the archives and copy any info they might want before closing

them for good? It will be hard in future to know what is in there

otherwise. Also, is there a way that the topics or headers will still be

filed for referencing? That way future newcomers to the site will be able

to see what is in the archives that might be useful or of interest?

Just some thoughts - sorry the turnout was so small - I didn't vote cause I

could see both sides points so clearly - but then I am a Libra :)

JoAnn, you are so kind and caring to all of us I am just surprised you

didn't vote twice, once each way, so as not to hurt anyone's feelings LOL!!

You are such a sweetie, and your messages always lift me up!

Just a side note, I am going on day 6 of stopping smoking and have really

not had a hard time, don't know if it is due to one of my meds? But surgeon

shd be happy with me!

Have appts set up in Denver, I will be a busy girl!!

Pre-op I meet with surgeon, PT, OT, massage therapist (YAY!), neurologist -

for a diagnostic C8 EMG of ulnar nerve in brachial plexus (NOT YAY!), PM Dr

for scalene block, diagnostic, and sympathetic nerve block for surgery.

Surgery on Thursday Feb 26 at 7:30 a.m., have to be in pre-op at 5:30 a.m. -

with no coffee - ouch!!

will be out of hospital if all goes well Monday Mar 1 and then will see PT

and OT daily and one more visit with massage therapist (YAY!). Final

follow-up with surgeon I think Mon Mar 8 and fly home Tuesday Mar 9 - WHEW!

Surgeon's office mgr says he will definately make sure I get sent home with

appropriate meds and recommendations to my Drs for future meds - YAY!

Have all stuff I need picked up other than a few scrips to refill and

snax/mags for plane. Now just need to get house straightened before Mom

gets here to take care of kids - threatened girls if their rms are not

picked up Dad and I are going in with garbage bags to pick up for them!

Otherwise am starting to go bonkers sitting here waiting and thinking abt

it - pain has been so bad fo so long, especially last several wks due to

freaking deep-freeze weather, can't hardly believe there may be some relief

in sight!!

And everyone I have talked to in Denver has been so nice, know all abt

problems like mine and say we are prepared to take care of cases like

yours - think I will get out there, throw arms around their necks and start

crying, make a real blubbering idiot out of self, will just be such a relief

to be around people with a CLUE!!!

C8 EMG of ulnar nerve in brachial plexus (NOT YAY!),

Beth,

I want to wish you the best with your surgery and my thoughts and prayers will be with you.

I can certainly understand the "NOT YAY!" to the EMG, they are nasty. I've had 6 done and absolutely refuse to have another. Each time they did the upper extremities I couldn't use my arms for four days, had 5 of those done. The lower extremities was torture also, my legs were shot for a few days from that one. It seems with all the advanced medical techniques there should be a less painful and barbaric test to replace the EMG and NCS.

Take care and good luck!

Hoping for Pain Free Days,Sandi
