Guest guest
This is so true. I can tolerate a small apple if my bgs are ok because of the fiber but I wouldn't even look at applesauce, sweetened or not Suzz ----------- Applesause is full of the natural sweeteners > presenent in ALL fruit--ie fructose & it is in a concentrated form in > ground up/cooked apples. Eating even whole fruit is an iffy ymmv thing > for most diabetics--juice & fruit sauces can be even more of a problem. >
Guest guest
It really is amazing (not to mention UTTERLY FRUSTRATING!) just how much " YMMV " in any given case, isn't it? I can eat most fruits (bananas and pineapple being exceptions) without too much trouble. This is even true of some of the supposedly higher-glycemic fruits/melons such as cantelope. I barely get a BG nudge out of nothing but cantelope. I also do very well with citrus fruits and apples and berries (not so well with strawberries as I am with blueberries or blackberries). GRRR! Makes me wanna yank out my hair SulaBlue Who's already got baby-fine hair to start with! > Dianna: I think your pain is getting to you today--this whole > discussion was about the fact that " unsweetened " means no sugar added > NOT without sugar. Guest guest
This is soooooooooo good with creme fraiche :-) Delicious! Sandy -------------------------------- May I suggest fried apples instead? Just melt a little butter into a pan, core and slice the apple, do not peel, sprinkle with cinnamon (or other seasonings to taste), some artificial sweetener and cook to desired consistency. But not too soft, you don't want to destroy all the fiber. You can omit the butter and just steam the apple.
